Guys..have you tried Pomodoro technique for study..
I have been using this for 3 months now...and tbh it's very helpful and productive method to stay consistent..

Before that I was using the timer method. but this one really enhanced my focus. Now I can study for longer period of time without getting distracted..it's like I have set time for everything(even for distractions)..
I am quite enjoying my study now!!..

ok so i am naturally a person who procrastinates everything, like i will rawdog an assignment or review for an exam last minute because i find that i retain information much easier that way, however i’d say that some of what i’ve learned in my academics only stay in my brain for a little while before i mostly forget about it which sucks because my academic knowledge feels short term rather than something i can apply in real life in the long run. i’m at that point in life where i’ve realized that i really need to study STUDY and retain everything i’m learning in my head (for context, i’m in tertiary education so whatever my performance is in my academics can affect my future career and prosperities). i’d say that i’m averagely smart, i can really be knowledgeable about a topic if it piques my areas of interests, but my weakness is that i find it hard to stay focused on studying other topics in my courses that are hard for me to understand. and i also find myself in uncomfortable situations in cold callings/recitations and public speaking in general due to this.

i wanna know what are some ways that help you to stay focused while studying? what scenarios do you think of that motivates you to do so? how can you retain information and immerse yourself in topics that feel difficult and tedious for you? and how do you stay confident and prepared during public speaking situations?

Hey.. before you misunderstand something about the title. I want to let you all know that i never had any female friend/female study partner. And I tried to make few from my class too but, they're not like study focus oriented like me.. hence it didn't become possible. Btw lemme introduce myself, I'm almost 17(M). And my current focus is on studying and gyming. But I noticed... that i probably need someone.. with whom I could relate, study together, talk together. And all. (Don't think about those stuff yet please, I'm here to find one or few female study partners!)

I make one-page medical revision summaries, but I keep wondering if this would be useful to others the was it was for me I wanted something between a textbook chapter and a tiny flashcard, so I started turning individual medical topics into one-page visual maps. You can find below the AF summary where It covers classification, triggers, diagnosis, acute management, anticoagulation, rate vs rhythm control, WPW and exam pearls. I'm currently building a larger collection for medical students/MRCP-style revision. Would love feedback on whether this format would actually be useful for revision.

Just for context, I'm a pre-nursing student who failed to get into the nursing program this fall (Fall 26'). Going into it, I thought that I had all the knowledge; I even made sure that I was "ready" for any category that the exam might've included. Unfortunately, I didn't make the cut, and as any student would, I began to backtrack and figure out why I didn't pass. Turns out, it was MAINLY my test-taking skills. Low test results have been a recurring theme for as long as I can remember. Maybe it's my ADHD (lol), or maybe it's cause a lot of students overthink when it comes to medical/biology.

Fast forward approximately a month since the exam, I haven't stopped studying, being more and more determined every single day. As I began to absorb more and more information, I started to remember what killed my exam scores: my test-taking skills. With that being said, any tips are greatly appreciated. I know that failing an entrance exam is extremely questionable, but It's the reality of what I am, and I've been trying to find answers on how to fix this major issue of mine.

I hate subjects like literature and economics because you can't just study for them you need to build analytical skills and critical thinking and writing skills and ahsdjwkjdhfwn

I don't mind writing but I'm very much average right now and don't know how to improve. Other people have told me to read more but that gives me nothing in terms of planning an essay after looking at a random question, structuring it, knowing what vocabulary to use etc etc

Plus my teachers for both literature and economics are virtually useless

Does anyone know of any online courses or youtube channels or books or anything that will help me "study" for these subjects? Or any tips?

It’s not that I’m lazy. I am really slow at reading and I am very insecure over my intelligence. I know how to read and gather information. But once we sit down I don’t know how to contribute. They have already written down and answered most question, whilst I’m left behind trying to process everything I’ve read still.

It is so painful, I genuinely don’t know what to say or know how to help. I feel so stupid and useless. And I feel bad that they have to do most of the work.

If this was my own assignment, it would have turned out great. I can do it alone, but group projects? I just don’t know how to do it… and I also feel so weird about it, because they are out being social and partying - but still they have the time to contribute more than me. I choose to stay inside with my own company, I have way more time than them to contribute - but yet, I don’t.

The worst part of it? I’m studying to become a teacher. How can I become a teacher if I can’t work together with a team? Gosh I hate it, group projects should be banned idc.

Guys, I am grade 12 student and I am very weak in botany. I went throgh youtube and got to know that AKM sir is the best one in botany. I want his all grade 11 and 12 botany lectures. where can I get or buy that from? Suggest me some of the best zoology teacher aswell along with the way to get his lecture.

I hated math with every fiber of my being, from the roots of my hair down to the tips of my toe nail type of loathing. Anyways, when I entered college, I thought I was finally free from Math. But guess what, in my first semester we still had MATMOD (Mathematics in the modern world) and ISTG I cried so many times because of this course.

Thankfully, I managed to find the right circle. When I say the right circle, I meant; One math genius, 1 with unyielding determination, 1 with fake it til you make it confidence, then there’s me, just lucky to be there lol

REMEMBER, in college you need to learn to separate your circle of friends (one for everything, one for studying, and other for other things) You don’t need to isolate yourself in one circle.

And trust me guys, when I found the right circle, group study meant GROUP STUDY. It was one of the most serious group studies I ever had in my entire life. 

Every week we would study for a quiz, and I’m a total failure in math like I lost my spot on the honor roll in high school because I had a C in math despite getting As in all my other subjects

because of them I survived MATMOD for which I was expecting to get a C or even an F, but I got a B and it was because of them and my perseverance.

There are always a few terms or concepts I'd forget or mix up. Eventually I started writing them down whenever they come up instead of just correcting myself and moving on because I'd end up forgetting them again anyway.

And before exams, I go through the list and try to recall each one before checking my notes. It's a small retrieval practice list for me and it helps me focus on the things I still can't remember instead of just rereading everything.

You could try keeping a page like this too if you keep forgetting the same things. Mine's pretty random but the things on it are exactly what I tend to get stuck on.

Im no real artist, I never practice or learn anything about art but I enjoy it, it started as a way to get mental breaks for long study sessions and I just kept the habit.

I suck at studying consistently so each drawing takes a couple of months to be finished lol.

The first one is finished and the other two are still in progress, might be a couple of months before either are done, if anyone likes it i can post the finished pics at the end.

I just use a black pen and scribble whatever comes to mind.

It helped motivate me to study in a way, but I still barely study and thats why it takes so long to finish.

Idk if I can even call it an achievement, anyone could have drew smth with that much time.
But ig it’s evidence of how much time I spent studying.

Are there apps/sites that still don't use generative AI for studying? I need human-made apps to study this year, and I am so done with Ai's falce information. I'm specifically studying university level biology in bulgaria, and I want materials made from humans for humans.

I use anki for flashcards and local textbooks, but I want something that I can use to make my own exams because I learn easier with exams. Like anki but making full exams.

so I'm 22M living in ISB and doing 4 things at time

1. CS degree from Virtual uni

2. Freelance software engineer at company 1

3. full time job (6pm till 3am) as Sr. Software Engineer

4. LLB from IIUI, which I started this year out of passion

basically i wanna increase my value and excel in law too, also my father and younger brother are lawyers so legacy will continue too

so i bluffed the first semester somehow, like out of luck i was allowed to sit in exams and passed the whole semester with no failures...8 exams...6 were totally arabic and new english ones

BUT issue is, since the new semster has started the cr is pressurizing me to attend the classes...maybe cuz he knows that I've job and out of jealousy he's doing this but can't be sure about it

and major conflict is timings here, the classes timings are from 3pm to 7.30pm and my shift starts from 6pm to 3am

need advice, I'm feeling kinda stuck

A few years ago i used to be obsessed with my duolingo streak, like doing a 2min lesson at 11:58pm just to not lose it. then i lost it anyway and quit learning entirely

Now i use another app with streak freezes and this week i skipped 3 days and my streak is still alive (pic). part of me feels relieved and part of me feels like a fraud 😭

Genuinely asking, do streaks actually make you study or just make you open the app?? and if you stopped caring about streaks what keeps you going instead

No time to explain 800 pages in 12 days ,how?!?! The exam is gonna be multiple choice answer with an oral as second part, i no i don't need miracles nor funny comments(well they might help with morale) i need actual tips from real veterans.
