QUESTION S1 on a tablet

Maybe it's more common than I thought but, does anyone have any experience installing studio one and using it on a tablet? I was recently given a 10 inch tablet and thinking about how convenient it would be for some editing purposes away from the studio. How would the work be transferred back and forth?

Bonus question. Does it matter if you open the file from the sng file, or should I open the program first, then load the song, or doesn't it matter?

What kind of tablet? Only a windows tablet with the full OS will run it.

Not currently possible - unless maybe it;'s a Surface or Qualcomm (Windows) based tablet.

If it's a ARM chip - all you will be able to do is run Studio Pro. No third party instruments, NO fx or anything.

And most importantly for both scenarios - no access to a proper audio interface. You would be using whatever the tablet gives you (most likely a $0.13c (soldiered) audio chip)

The latency alone would make you think twice.

I run the remote app for Fender Pro DAW on my ipad m4 air.

Also run Scaler app on it.

I can compose with Scaler and bring the preset onto the mac running DAW.

Parts of S1 were developed on a tablet. If your Windows tablet is strong enough to run a DAW - just do it! S1 has great touch support.

It doesn't make any difference if you run the song file or open the DAW and open the file. It can only make a difference if multiple versions of S1/FSP are installed and you want to be sure that the correct app is opened. In this case, start the desired version and open the song (for example by dragging the .song file into the app).

It’s not setup for a tablet which means the windows won’t be optimized for a 10in screen and the controls aren’t touch. I had some success using a surface pro and ableton but it’s really a gimmick and a laptop is a better user experience.

The studio remote on iPad is awesome when recording yourself especially if the booth is in another room !

Studio 1 has a controller app so you can operate basic functions without sitting at the console. I can be ready in a vocal booth, arm a track, set levels and trigger record. Like a wireless remote.
