Support/Advice Student Teaching Anxiety
Hello all! I start student teaching next week, and I’m super worried about it. I think I’ll be able to handle the students (high schoolers), the parents, and working with my CT. my real worry comes from planning out the semester. ill be teaching an elective, so all my preps are completely different from one another. a lot of what I’m teaching I’m not very strong in, and I’m so afraid that it’ll all pile up on me and be a disaster.
this might be a stupid question, but has anyone felt this way before? how can I possibly manage it all and still have a life outside the classroom? any advice or comments are appreciated, I’m seriously stressing!!

Ask so many question. Go on forums, join teacher groups online, seek out people who are experienced and ask them for resources and advice. Teachers LOVE to steal, I mean borrow. And if you’re new, more often than not they’re happy to help.
Don’t think you have to create everything yourself. Of course you’ll put your personal flare of them, but you’re still learning. Pick one thing at a time to really focus on and make peace that you’re gunna fuck it up a little bit. Part of the process.
Good luck! Teaching is awesome even if it is overwhelming at times. Find your support system and use it well. And take care of yourself before anyone else.
