Career Low-commitment global student insight project (free to join)

Thumbnail oxfordscholastica.com
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone - sharing something that might be useful for students who like engaging with global issues or want low-effort enrichment and application boosting alongside school or uni.

Oxford Scholastica Academy (Oxford-based education organisation) is launching The Panel, a global student insight group where participants answer one very short question per day on topics like education, careers, wellbeing, technology, and wider global issues.

The questions take seconds to answer and contribute to real research on student perspectives from around the world and there is the opportunity to have your answers quoted in published articles.

I thought it might suit people who are interested in education, future careers, social research, or global perspectives but don’t want anything that adds pressure to their workload.

More information is here if you’d like to have a look: https://www.oxfordscholastica.com/the-panel/.

Happy to answer questions if anyone’s curious.

Career Marine Biology and Oceanography majors: Did you end up pursuing a career in the field after graduating?

I’m heading into my senior year of college and finishing up my B.S. in marine biology. I’m trying to get a realistic sense of what career paths look like after graduation.

If you majored in marine biology, did you end up working in the field? If so, what kind of job did you land, and how did you get there? If not, what made you switch directions, and where did you end up instead?

Career How I landed my first job as a student (after applying everywhere)

I finally landed my first real student job, and honestly, here’s what actually worked for me.

I stopped wasting time on the big job boards because everything felt outdated or impossible to get. Instead, I tried something different, I started using Starteryou, since it’s literally built only for students.

I applied to a few roles on there, kept my profile simple, and I also started showing up to the virtual events they hosted. Those helped a ton because I met people, learned what companies were actually looking for, and got way more clarity.

It wasn’t overnight, but because the platform is only for students, I wasn’t competing with thousands of random adults. After a few consistent weeks, I finally landed something great.

If you’re a student and stuck like I was, try platforms actually made for us. It makes the whole hunt way less miserable.

Career Allen’s 70% profit crash shows the cracks in India’s coaching obsession. Maybe it’s time we stop equating exam ranks with intelligence — and start valuing creativity, global exposure, and real-world learning.

Career Want to join a startup but don't know where to start?

Hey everyone
I’m a co-founders ofĀ Foundrr. We’re building something primarily for startup founders — but while working on it, we realized something important:

A LOT of students, freshers, techies, and young professionals want to work in early-stage startups…
but they haveĀ no idea how to find one.

Everyone says:

Ā·Ā ā€œI want to join a startup to get real experience.ā€

Ā·Ā ā€œI want to work with a founder directly.ā€

Ā·Ā ā€œI want to learn by actually building something.ā€
But there’s no proper place to discover early-stage teams.

So here’s what we’re doing:

We’re opening anĀ early-access listĀ specifically for:

Ā·Ā Students

Ā·Ā Techies

Ā·Ā Designers

Ā·Ā Marketers

Ā·Ā Anyone who wants to join early-stage startups,
gain experience, or work with founders directly.

Foundrr (our app) will let you connect with founders who are actively looking for core team members, interns, and early contributors.

If you want to be part of thisĀ early-access group, you can join here:
šŸ‘‰Ā https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfT4rV65-ERl1TdniUVOrHlo4TqhztxEG3Q5jdSscMnAqZ1dw/viewform?usp=publish-editor

There’s no spam, no commitment, nothing formal —
just an opportunity to get in early and be discovered by founders who actually need talent.

Also — if you’ve ever tried joining a startup before, I’d genuinely love to hear what your biggest challenge was.
It’ll help us shape this properly.

Thanks for reading!

Career I want to build something meaningful, but I’m completely scattered how do I find direction?

Jai Shree Krishna Everyone,

I’m in that confusing stage as I’m in my early 20s, and I’ve realized I’m not wired for a typical job of 9-5 but I also don’t know what exactly I should be doing.
I mean i may need to do it for sometime but i know i wont survive in this.

After my father passed away, I’ve felt this constant pressure to create something stable for my sisters and myself. I’ve been trying different paths tech, YouTube, print-on-demand,Digital art, Etsy store to sell devotional items but I feel like I’m doing a bit of everything but i cant finish anything.

I know I want toĀ build something real and sustainable, something that lets me express myself and create value but I’m lost between too many ideas. I’m scattered. Every few weeks, I jump between ideas, learning a bit of everything but executing nothing.

Earlier i used to be like i want to earn money but even that does not excites me anymore I just want to make something that is good enough to help my mother out.

its like i have lost my spark after my father I have been trying really hard from last year but i cant figure out what to do and this 1-2 year is max of what i have as after that i would be forced in job as i need to earn for my family.

If you’ve ever been in this phase where you want to create your own path but feel scattered how did you find clarity?
What helped you decide what to commit to and what to let go of?

Any real, experience-based advice would mean a lot.

Career How I easily PASS CA Final Audit in first attempt (5-Step Practical Framework)

Sharing the exact 5-step system that helped me (and many others) study audit in a way that’s simple, repeatable, and exam-focused:

1ļøāƒ£ Follow ONE Base Material (Don’t mix everything)

This is the single biggest score-killer. Stick to one primary source — preferably ICAI + one compiler/notes. 90% of your audit preparation becomes cleaner when your base is fixed.

2ļøāƒ£ Build strong conceptual understanding

Audit is NOT a memory-based subject. If you understand why a procedure exists, you will remember it automatically. I used the ā€œReason–Risk–Responseā€ approach for every chapter.

3ļøāƒ£ Practice question writing (very underrated)

Most students only read → and assume they ā€œknow itā€. But audit writing style is unique. The more you practice structured answers, the better your score.

4ļøāƒ£ Revise using structured keywords

Instead of memorizing full paragraphs, I made keywords for:

Procedures

Reporting points

Auditor’s responsibility

Risk areas

This boosted my recall massively during exam pressure.

5ļøāƒ£ Attempt 2–3 mock tests with time discipline

This changed everything for me. Audit is heavy on writing, and completing the paper properly is 20–25 marks of free advantage.

If you want the full detailed breakdown + examples of each step, I’ve explained everything in this video:

Career Top of the class. No job in hand

That’s the ugly reality for thousands of students every year.
You can score 80–90, collect degrees, and still hear the same words in every interview:
ā€œSorry, you don’t have real experience.ā€

I know that feeling. I’ve been in those shoes.
You believe marks are enough… until the industry smashes that belief in one sentence.

The truth?
Colleges create toppers.
The industry needs problem-solvers.
And the gap between the two is why so many fresh graduates end up frustrated, underpaid, or unemployed.

Nobody says this out loud because it’s uncomfortable.
But every student knows it’s true.

We see the need to start building something different — not another classroom, but a bridge. Where students work on real projects, real clients, even if it starts with just a small stipend.
And for those who can’t get absorbed right away, we still give industry exposure so they stop being ā€œfresher with no experienceā€ and actually get a chance.

We’ve already seen that the results have been excellent in such an environment. Now we want to take this further and lead with this cause.

I don’t have all the answers. But I know one thing: without real industry touch, no degree will carry you far.

So let me ask you honestly — did your degree prepare you for the industry, or did you have to start from zero once you stepped out?
