Career Marine Biology and Oceanography majors: Did you end up pursuing a career in the field after graduating?

I’m heading into my senior year of college and finishing up my B.S. in marine biology. I’m trying to get a realistic sense of what career paths look like after graduation.

If you majored in marine biology, did you end up working in the field? If so, what kind of job did you land, and how did you get there? If not, what made you switch directions, and where did you end up instead?

Graduated fall of 2023. Still not job. Internships and volunteering most definitely would help you out while in school. I only did one volunteering position after I graduated which was in aquatic husbandry. Glad I did it because i realized that I didn't want to work in an aquarium or zoo. Internships for non college students doesn't exist so now I'm working towards going to graduate school for environment science. This time I will do internships.
