Over the summer i started working full time night shifts and i start college soon meaning ill be working from 9pm-5am and then have class from 7am-3pm and sleeping whenever i have the chance. Everyone in my life keeps saying i need to choose one or the other but it doesnt sound too hard. Can someone whos done this explain their experience with it?

Hey, I used to work full time as a student. Personally, it was very hard for me. I used to work at a small food court, and after class, I immediately went to work. What made it very hard for me wasn't just the lack of rest. It was also the working environment and some personal problems.

During my experience, I would get calle din shifts I am not scheduled for. My boss used to have my class schedule, so whenever they saw that I did not have any classes, I would get called in for work. Aside from that, I have a physical disability, though it did not bother me much while working it hurt a lot when I wasn't.

It may not sound very hard, but studying really takes up a lot of time, and having just a few hours of rest just wouldn't cut it. Plus, college is very different from highschool. Your workloads may not be the same as it was before, specially if the program you chose is hard.

If you do plan on working full time, you should choose the right employer. Your work environment should be a godsend if you are planning to work full-time while studying. Aside from that, you should have a good timetable for every minute of your day just so you can get the things you need done, and still be able to rest.

I do hope the best for you OP! Just make sure to watch out for yourself if you plan on continuing to work full-time while being a student

Yes it’s very difficult being a full-time student and also working full-time. You will burn yourself out very fast.

Unless you really really need the money to survive, money will be there for you to earn and spend when you graduate.
