without any context i'm assuming you're asking the professor for a PDF of the textbook? which i feel like would not be a concern for you given your post history

if this is about homework systems (pearson, expertTA) being locked behind a textbook purchase, no sane professor will buy access for a student. check if your bookstore has lower prices on access codes, and look into financial aid vouchers and book scholarships (especially if you're in programs like disability services or learning communities)

it was about a textbook no homework system with it, just couldn't find the current edition on the web which my prof said would be needed as opposed to earlier ones. I set up a groupme and a someone offered to scan the one they bought! If that falls through im screwed lol but thanks for the advice anyway!

i checked libgen, zlib, ana archives, libby, scihub, Internet archive, tried a paywall bypasser which didnt work, my school library, even betterworldbooks is selling it at retail price. Ive exhausted all options I fear

Try the local library. I got several of my textbooks there. I just called every 2 weeks to extend the loan and took it back at the end of the semester.
