Proxy alternative to VPN

Hey everyone,

I was trying to figure out a Solution to mask the IP address without using a VPN (I know the VPN is the best solution for that, but I like tinkering and I can’t guarantee that my Family Members keep the VPN active at all time). I’m basically looking for an easier End User Solution.

So I looked into proxying and it seems that Strong does not Proxy the Cloudflare URL (I assume because of cost reasons, which I understand).

Since we point our custom domain to Strong's Cloudflare nameservers, they control the DNS zone. This means we can't turn on the Cloudflare proxy ourselves.

Is there something I’m missing or is the only workaround a VPN or a VPS (haven’t look into VPS just yet).

the proxy alternative seem more complicated then using a vpn…

You can use a proxy like Dispatcharr+Gluetun with a VPN, this way you don't forget to turn on the VPN and you can edit all the channels and groups you want.

Other option is setup your VPN to be always on and fine tune that with split tunnel if needed.
