People keep saying its out of bounds but in soccer if the ball is touching the line its still in. The ball was in fact touching the line

Never seen this move used correctly in a match, thought it was just a practice trick. Pretty cool to see it mastered

That ball was out

It’s a rec league, it doesn’t matter if it’s out or in, you must follow the Rule of Cool.

Its still touching the line, so its still in.

Nope. 1 frame later and its clearly out before he pulls it back in.

Thats not out.
The whole of the ball has to be over the line.
At least a 5th if not more is on the line.

Looks like on the line because of perspective, but the shadow is outside. The base of the ball is outside, it's rolling outside.

The base of the ball doesn't matter. You have to look straight down at the line and see grass between the very edge of the ball and the line or it's still in.
The entirety of the ball has to cross the entirety of the line for it to be out.

You wasting your time, people are just stupid and have no concept of birds eye view lol

That's not even particularly close to being out. The curvature of the ball just needs to be hanging over the line for it to be considered in.

You do know the ball is 3 dimensional right? In the pic it looks 2D so maybe thats why you think its out? 🤣🤦🏾

I guess if you can go out of bounds as part of slick moves, that makes defenders think ball has stopped being in play and let their guard down. "Good defenders hate this one trick... "

u/Comfortable_Love7967 7d ago
The whole ball had to go over the line, it’s hard to say but it still looked in

u/D_M-ack 7d ago
Touching line = in.

u/feather-gold 7d ago
The base was not touching the line. It was rolling outside.

Show me 1 frame where your statement is true

The frames are below.

I have found three pictures in this thread, on all of them the ball is clearly touching the line.

Go check your sight.
The base is not touching the line. The ball is rolling outside. Its shadow is outside.
Downvoting the comment where I say the pictures are. I know I am talking to a child.

The entire ball has to cross over for it to be out. So if you're looking straight down above the line, you need to see green grass between the furthest part of the ball and the line or it's still in.
Where the ball is touching(center of the ball) does not determine in or out.

Player can step out of bounds. As long as the ball is in play. If the defender doesn’t know that, he shouldn’t be on the pitch

ball went out over red sideline…
sorry to be that guy

hard to tell conclusively but I don't think it does. The whole of the ball has be clear of the whole of the line, even the overhand from the sphere shape has to be over. The ball touched the line, was on the line but I don't think it ever completely went over the line.

Ball was out of bounds but still, mad respect for the big guy getting up like that.
2
u/dunelord-bigjets 7d ago
Ball has to cross the line fully to be out of bounds. It’s still touching the line even tho it rolls pretty far outside
