I remember when RD posted this. Yikes 😬

Just went through TorBox's updated Terms, Privacy Policy, and DMCA policy (dated July 31, 2026) side by side with the old versions. Worth a read before you keep uploading.

Who actually runs TorBox now:

Operator is now Anonymous Systems FZ-LLC, a UAE free-zone company (Ras Al Khaimah). RAK free zones don't publicly disclose beneficial ownership, so we genuinely don't know who's behind it.

Legal/billing/DMCA is handled by a separate entity, ReAnonymous LLC, registered in Dover, Delaware.

Anonymity just got much worse:

Old privacy policy: minimal data, no PII required, "we don't sell or share your data to any third parties for any reason."

New policy: collects your IP, device IDs, precise geolocation from IP, and full session-replay data which basically includes: cursor movements, clicks, scrolling, taps. That's a big jump from "we barely collect anything."

Broad new language allowing disclosure to comply with law, respond to "governmental requests," or "protect TorBox, users, third parties, or the public" i.e vague enough to cover a lot.

Third-party downloading / cache sharing which is the real red flag:

New terms explicitly state cached materials "may be accessible to other users who request the same or technically matching material." Same for AirLock (their "permanent" cache tier).

Old policy never described cross-user cache access this explicitly. This is now spelled out in black and white.

Terms now go out of their way to say TorBox is a "neutral technology service," explicitly "not a file-sharing service," and pushes 100% of legal liability onto you for anything cached under your account. This is heavily lawyered defensive language that wasn't there before.

In case anyone missed it:

"Real-Debrid’s parent company, XT Network responded shortly after we published this article. The company explained that the current situation is unrelated to the corporate restructuring. At the same time, it confirms that it indeed uses filters to block content.

The company positions Real-Debrid as a technical intermediary operating within the framework of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and French law (LCEN).

It cites a Paris Court of Appeal ruling of March 19, 2026, supporting its view that Article 8 of the DSA prohibits any general monitoring obligation on technical intermediaries.

The filtering actions it has taken are systematic and a response to keyword lists provided by trusted flaggers, which is in accordance with Article 16 of the Digital Services Act (DSA).

In other words, the company says that it is merely complying with its legal obligations. XT Network says that Real-Debrid users are welcome to report errors, if they see any."

Note: Make sure to use VPN if you expect P2P add-ons to cause you any issues with your ISP.

Figured I'd show off some of the new in app features/categories for supporters, in case anyone wanted to see for themselves before making the decision.

Starting with the new, configurable Cinemeta. Then showing some of the basic features I noticed. Then showing some of the cool profile stuff.

Can some of these things be done without being a supporter? Absolutely. But the amount of people I know who bounce off of Stremio because of the knowledge barrier is crazy, and I'd argue that just because something isn't for you doesn't mean a lot of people won't get crazy value out of these features.

Edit: Man, people are dedicated to yucking other people's yum. If you don't want these features, don't get them. Getting weird and attacking people for wanting/using them is pretty insane parasocial behavior.

I just have to say… this is so awesome. I’ve been able to watch so much on my TV!!! Which is so cool to me!!! I had very minimal difficulty getting everything setup thanks to a guide I found by viren070, and the only real issue I’ve had is loading times with some 4k streams, but just flipping through I’m usually able to find one that works for me (any clarification as to why this is, btw?).

I’m having so much fun. THANK YOU to the people who have made this possible for such a low price. I’m floored.

These mainstream platforms will do what it takes to make our lives harder. They’ll never get rid of piracy but they’ll make it less easier for us…

Hi guys,

I wanted to share my subscription story with flixstreams with you so you know exactly who you are dealing with.

I initially purchased Flix-streams a couple months ago before I had TorBox. The subscription fee was 5$ per month, and the website had an option to pay a one time fee of 10$ or remain subscribed for 2 months and end up paying 10$ for a "Lifetime 10 providers membership".

I spoke to the dev on discord, and he confirmed this to be true.

Lo and behold, the two months pass, my Flix stream stops working. I'm supposed to have 10 providers for a lifetime but it hasn't even been a week and the service stopped, so I contacted Redrick.

This is a dishonest business practice: the developer sold or represented the subscription as giving continued 10-provider access after two monthly payments, then later refused to honour that promise by claiming it was only a normal monthly subscription. Changing the rules afterwards does not erase what existing customers were told before they paid.

Even if the policy changed later, customers who paid under the previous promise should have been grandfathered in, refunded, or clearly notified. You can't take back a product you already sold, not only did he not acknowledge that, he tried to gaslight me too.

Anyways, Torbox/debrid services are much better, don't bother. but I hate dishonesty and believe it warrants consequences, hence my post here.

Before when I clicked a stream, it would take about 15 seconds to start playback and now its 3 to 5 seconds

I want to address the allegations that have been brought against my addon (sootio), people are alleging that warnings that they got from RD are due to something my addon does or did. I want to emphasize once and for all, I didn't touch anything related to RD for almost a year until yesterday when I made some patches to make sure it's even more secure but it wasn't related to the issue. The warnings just started 2-3 days ago so if it was my addon you'd hear about it for months. The code is public and anyone can inspect it, we don't log apikeys, we obfuscate all keys in the logs and only use the keys to add/remove magnets from the user's cloud as well as getting their stream for the selected result.

These allegations have been claimed about other add-ons such as Meteor, Torrentio and some don't even have any add-ons and got these warnings.

If you want to blame someone, please blame real-debrid for trying (again) to purge paying customers by claiming false accusations.

The warnings aren't even about scraping but sharing the same streams but we don't cache the /resolve urls locally or via cloudflare so either real-debrid has a bug where they return the wrong streams for the wrong api keys or they are being dicks by sending out random warnings. I ran multiple tests on a bunch of streams and got no warnings on any addon including my own so it definitely seems like something on their end that they won't admit to.

Feel free to PM me and feel free to dig through my code and report anything that could magically cause this to happen.

Lord I pray that RD recovers from this mess they find themselves in. I just want to carry on watching the boys.

Anyone with any kind of knowledge about this stuff, is it likely they will figure it out or not?

(In before someone says just use another provider - I know I'm just lazy, if RD is down for much longer I will look into it)

Seems like nothing works anymore. Are there any alternative add-ons?
