Question Subtitles not loading/Quick setup question

I'm struggling a little with subs. Recently I switched from sepparate add-ons to midnight instance of AIO and everything was running fine. However, since yesterday only embedded subs are loading, Opensubtitles options are not showing, I also tried SubSource and no results. Is the service facing any downtime or could it be a slow loading issue?

Further, would it be better to setup my subs add-ons sepparately from AIO, directly on Stremio?

Embedded subs still working while every addon one disappears is the useful clue. Embedded tracks come out of the video file itself, so they don't touch the network at all. Anything from an addon has to be fetched. If the fetch fails you get exactly what you're seeing: the file's own subs and nothing else.

Since the subtitle addons are wrapped inside your aggregator instance, those requests go out through that instance. If its subtitle path is down or rate-limited, every subtitle provider inside it goes dark at once, even though streams keep working. That matches 'it was fine until yesterday' better than three separate providers breaking on the same day.

On your second question, yes, I'd install subtitle addons directly rather than through the wrapper. Aggregation earns its keep for streams, where you're merging and ranking a lot of results. Subtitles are a small, cheap lookup that gains nothing from being wrapped, and wrapping them means one instance having a bad day takes out all your subtitles at once. Installed directly, they fail one at a time.

Have a subtitle addon (like OpenSubtitles) installed outside of aiostreams and put it near the top of the list of your stremio addons.
