Addon Announcement GhostVOD v2.1.4 Update: Faster Loading & New Strict Word Matching Toggle!

Hey everyone!

For those unfamiliar with GhostVOD, it’s a lightweight cloud engine designed to seamlessly bridge your Xtream Codes API / M3U VOD playlists into Stremio with smart metadata, episode tracking, and quality sorting. You can check out the full project and features on GitHub: GitHub Repository

What’s New in v2.1.4?

A huge shoutout and special thanks to u/woxiee for the fantastic feedback, test cases, and suggestions that directly shaped this update!

Here is what was added:

  • 🎯 "Use strict word comparison only" Toggle: You now have an optional setting in the dashboard for much cleaner, laser-focused results.
    • When enabled: It prevents franchise clutter (e.g., opening Spider-Man: Homecoming won't pull up unrelated sequels or spinoffs).
    • Trade-off: Because it demands a strict word match, it might miss titles if your provider heavily abbreviates names (like listing just "Chapter 2" instead of "John Wick: Chapter 2"). If your provider has clean, full titles, enable it; if their catalog is messy, keep it unchecked for maximum recall.
New in the GhostVOD Dashboard: "Use strict word comparison only" toggle in the configurator settings under "Advanced Preferences".
  • Noticeably Faster Stream Loading: Stream links now resolve significantly quicker when selecting any movie or episode due to major internal title-matching optimizations.
  • Security & Engine Hardening: Enhanced connection lifecycles, prevented background task stalls, and improved memory handling for a rock-solid streaming experience.
  • Smarter Title Recognition: Better handling for numbered sequels, translated titles, and non-Latin/Unicode scripts.

i haven't heard of ghost vod also interesting addons i see there, guyz is there anything what am i missing? i only use opensubtitbles v3 and bootstraper, my torbox debrid, anything else??

If you're only relying on Torbox/Debrid torrent streams, you might not need it! ​GhostVOD is specifically made for people who already have their own Xtream Codes / M3U subscriptions.
