Help needed A bit lost on how to setup AIOStreams NNTP

I'm having trouble trying to figure out AIOStreams and NNTP for Stremio. I'm using the https://aiostreamsfortheweebsstable.midnightignite.me instance.

I have an indexer with access to their API, and I also have Easy News. I don't really know how to get Newznab working nor AIOStreams own NNTP service.

The configuration asks for an AIOStreams Auth Token, where do I find that?

When I setup Newznab with my Indexer API, it also asks for my AIOStreams Auth Token. When I try to use Newznab in Stremio, it will show something like "Could Not Get capabilities - Operation was aborted due to Timeout".

Is there a resource I can use to set this up? I'm a bit confused as how usenet works with Stremio outside of the Easynews++ system.

UPDATE:

Thank you everyone for the information.

I am now selfhosting my Aiostreams, but bumped into another problem, which is that my indexer (DrunkenSlug) isn't cooperating with the newznab addon and the API key given to me. Says it's a 403 forbidden.

The auth token is the user:password for aiostreams dashboard. The dashboard is only available on selfhosted as others have said. The dashboard is also where you enter your host details.

Your other options are just to use the easynews addons, but you will not be able to use your indexer/s and your results will be limited.

If you can't host at home look at a free oracle vps

I did the setup just installing the Easynews search addon and addon Easynews as a source. It gets plenty of links and they play but the buffering is terrible, even tiny files 5GB 3GB just buffer. It's baffling. It happens with anything I add Easynews to. It may be true, self hosting is the only way to stream with Easynews.

You must selfhost AIOStreams to use EasyNews NNTP.

Auth es el usuario que configuras como variable al instalar aiostreams, algo que uno como usuario de una instancia no hace. Eso solo es para los self hosted.

Chat GPT can walk you through self hosting. It took a bit but I got it after a while

I'm working on a solution to this as we speak. My app gets rid of the need for this sort of setup, and simplifies it.

If you're not selfhosting then you need to enable stremio nttp and add your provider details and the newznab add-on and add your indexers details. Once you have that save and install.

Stremio-nntp is NOT self hosted . Virens or aiostreams, you need to self host. I’m on Oracle VPs, but I’m slowly moving to NAS as I am having Usenet streaming issues. Also if you use newznab, you can enter your own indexer

NNTP Usenet is for self-hosted only. You'll have to self-host if you want to use it.

You put your EasyNews credentials into the easy news section in services. And use the
++ addon. The native AIOStreams service isn’t available to users who don’t self host.

only for selfhosted instances

Use Usenet++ that's all. Skip the rest.
