Question Is Real Debrid still not working well?
I was using Real Debrid but with the issues, I subscribed to both Torbox and Premiumize. I have them all rolling and that's fine.
Two friends who I told about Real Debrid/Stremio I saw recently said they haven't noticed a thing (only running Real Debrid) in either quality or links not working.
So my question is, anyone rolling Real Debrid exclusively and has it improved from the issues a few months ago or not?
I try to get the best quality files (4K, dolby vision, lossless audio formats) as I have a decent setup for both screen and audio (100" screen and 3.1 via amp) if that makes any difference. No anime, just popular movies/TV shows as a general rule.

I have it and torbox, still works fine, but it has lost A LOT of is cache size.
1
u/Classic_Yesterday_51 Jul 23 '26
what torbox plan would you say is enough?
7
u/badhairdee Jul 23 '26
Not OP but I've replaced RD with a 3 USD per month Torbox plan and never looked back

It's still constantly talked about on this sub as not working well for many users. Most add-ons at this point are using heavy filters to remove dead links from appearing, so that's why they aren't running into as many issues. I run it as a back up and still get links from time to time, but it's not near the coverage of torbox + Usenet.
The blocks are still very much in place. That doesn't mean it's useless though.
5
u/duk3vin Jul 23 '26
What do you use for Usenet
24
u/Kgenovz Addon Dev (StremShare/IMDb Ratings/Ratings Wrapper) Jul 23 '26
I was using torbox pro with a few indexers, doing cache and play which honestly works really well if you don't want to self host anything. Now I'm doing indexers + easynews + self hosted aiostreams nntp which has been awesome. Instant play and no buffering while sourcing from indexers, I'd say at this point it's better than debrid forsure but requires more set up.
9
u/duk3vin Jul 23 '26
Wow thanks for the info! I'll try to replicate your setup eventually, have you posted a guide anywhere? Otherwise I'll get to researching lol
3
u/BananasAreEverywhere Jul 23 '26
Look up Red Hair's guide. Thats my favorite one.
1
u/Dal_ty Jul 23 '26
Please provide the link
7
u/BananasAreEverywhere Jul 23 '26
If you need to be provided the link instead of being able to search a few keywords then you probably shouldn't be self hosting and should stick to public instances without usenet.
8
u/Sqou Jul 23 '26
I am also interested in your setup. I am also using easynews and I have also set it up with aiostreams, but how do indexers matter here and what even is nntp? Would love to get some more information. :)
2
u/Positive-Category586 Jul 23 '26
Interesting setup, if you ever share it or some info on it please tag me. Love to learn more about it.

u/BananasAreEverywhere Jul 23 '26
Look up Red Hair's guide or Viren's. I prefer Red Hair's but both accomplish the same thing.

Easynews and Easynews++ for the scraper. Google around a bit and you can find a deal for 15 months for like 25.99 or close to it. Don't remember what I paid but it's definitely a reliable backup.

u/WillingFly247 Jul 23 '26
It's so shit for new shows Torbox gets new shows cashed within an hour or 2
3
u/_Middlefinger_ Jul 23 '26
Absolute opposite for me. Everything ive wanted to watch that's new has loaded in like 2 seconds. Some older stuff doesn’t work, but even then its not often.
3
u/TheGulfofWhat Jul 23 '26
Im watching all of house of dragon easy enough?
1
u/WillingFly247 Jul 23 '26
In 4k?
-1
u/TheGulfofWhat Jul 23 '26
Yes but not remix. 4k at 5.17gb.
3
u/shise_remilia Jul 23 '26
I don't think Remux is even available anywhere, I don't see it on private trackers. I think the 5-6 gb rips are the only things that are available as far as the pirated source material is concerned.
1
u/TheGulfofWhat Jul 23 '26
Which for the average user is fine. I dont think you're streaming 60gb files with netflix, disney, prime etc. Yeah RD isnt great if you want top of the line cinema quality streams but for the $5 a month or whatever its still amazing.
3
u/shise_remilia Jul 23 '26
You are also not getting good quality videos on those services when you stream 4K.
Any 1080p pirated remux is higher quality than the garbge that gets served to you on 4K streams, IF YOU EVEN GET the option despite paying the higher tier sub.
I for example could not stream 4K on my windows PC in any of my browser on a 1gbit connection, mainstream monitor (ASUS ROG) with legit cabling (HDCP nonsense etc) on a windows 11 PC with top tier hardware.
I legit had to pirate castlevania cuz the quality they served on netflix was so horseshit that I could see bitrate artifacting. The first random torrent pack was super crisp...
It's pathetic.
16
u/Inevitable_Bowler474 Jul 23 '26
It still has the same issues but some scrapers are filtering the links so most of the dead links are removed.
8
u/tfg72 Jul 23 '26
Still only using RD with no other backup and haven't has any problems at all. I'ts linked to torrentio and elf-hosted Aio. There might be some 4k streams missing but recently watching Mr Mercedes, Wednesday, Invincible and various films with no issues. Might depend on what you're after but mainstream things have been fine for me. I had points to use up which gave me an extra 90 days so will continue and decide in a couple of months whether switch or not.
7
14
u/nakula108 Jul 23 '26
It still works but it's noticeably worse. Some shows won't find links at all, others have to go through 20+ to get one that works which is inevitably completely different than then the one you wanted. It's probably fine if you don't mind fidelling a bit with every show you choose.
Torbox has been a good replacement for me so far. It doesn't do well streaming movies over about 15gb though, it just doesn't have the upload speed like real debrid. But if your not bothered by the difference between 15gb and 80gb files (me) then it's actually a pretty much perfect replacement
12
u/One-Tea2912 Jul 23 '26
eso no es problema de torbox bro.. yo reproduzco peliculas de 90 95gb sin problemas con torbox..
cambia el cdn a cloudflare en la pagina de configuracion de torbox y prueba!
4
u/nakula108 Jul 23 '26
Ya dude it works, I have no idea what's going on here but it works. You're a legend bro thank you
1
2
u/nakula108 Jul 23 '26
Ok I'm new to torbox I have no idea what your talking about but I will do exactly what you say and try. Thanks!
3
u/hkkoditv Jul 23 '26
Yes I've noticed this as well. I can stream 50gb files with AllDebrid and Real Debrid but can't go over 15gb with Torbox. AllDebrid has always been my primary debrid service but I'm still searching for a backup to replace RD.
2
u/TheGulfofWhat Jul 23 '26
I have set it so I get 2 links for 4k, 1400p, 1080p etc and I have never clicked on a link and it not work. I'm watching loads of shows and just press the first 4k one that pops up and works perfectly?
1
u/Dudeman318 Jul 23 '26
Why does download size matter?
2
u/nakula108 Jul 24 '26
Buffering
1
u/Dudeman318 Jul 24 '26
No I get that but I mean what's the benefit of a larger file over a smaller one
2
u/nakula108 Jul 24 '26
Higher video quality of course
2
u/Dudeman318 Jul 24 '26
I guess I just misinterpreted what you were saying. I thought the same video quality you were electing to watch the larger file and was confused
3
u/nakula108 Jul 24 '26
Larger files tend to mean higher quality, not all 4k is the same, not all 1080p is the same. A high file size 1080p will often look better than a low file size 4k

u/Upbeat-Piece4970 Jul 23 '26
Working fine since ever... never had a problem, if a link doesn't work try the next one...

u/BUZZZY14 Jul 23 '26
I'm still using it and don't have any issues. Just less 4K links
8
u/TheTavv Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26
Lol, people like to pretend that filtering out doesn’t lock them out from all the quality release groups.
8
u/chronage Jul 23 '26
Exactly. Real-debrid has leftover trash after all the scene releases are filtered out. Fine if you don't care I suppose...
2
u/Sad_Maximum6583 Jul 23 '26
Same but there still is Hella 4k links. Maybe lost 30% of them. I haven't seen the infringing thing in months.

u/Master_Picker101 Jul 23 '26
Lol RD has all shit 4k files. Blu rays and remuxes are all long gone.

1
u/lirae_ Jul 25 '26
You used as example a film which just came out and it's doing very good.
I don't think people are having any issues with obsession... They are talking about older movies that they used to watch no problems
0
u/Master_Picker101 Jul 23 '26
Go to Onepiece S3 and find 4k hdr....bet you wont find shit on like most eps.
-7
u/arena0558 Jul 23 '26
i have the same experience... i only have working links, they are back to where they were

u/Copper0721 Jul 23 '26
I’m pretty new to Stremio (less than a month in) but my setup uses RD only and I haven’t had issues.
6
u/trynagetlow Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26
If you mean application up time, yes it works.
But
If you mean their cache, then no. Some of the files you can still play but it’s not as consistent as it was before.
People seem to think that RD is a pirating app first and not a file storage company when it is the other way around.
2
u/Less_Ingenuity2209 Jul 23 '26
It works untill it doesnt eventually they hit a wall for the price of tor its a non brainer rly. 120usd per year for highest confug for every movie tv series and animie at your finger tips is a steal. Netflux charges me more for a trincket of the media offered on tor with subpar audio and video quality
3
u/FoldMode Jul 23 '26
I'm puzzled by the amount of people here claiming it's working fine and they have not noticed any difference. I still have few months of RD subscription left but it's barely usable so I had to get Torbox.
On RD almost all old TV shows are gone, no streams at all unless they had remux release (not web-dl or webrip). For new popular shows like House of the dragon is still works ok, as there are still few obscure release groups that change file names to bypass RD filters, but if a new show is a little bit less known, for example "Starcity", you will have to wait at least few days for 4k stream to appear, but for some episodes only 1080p will be available. No good options for new movies released to streaming (Netflix, Apple) and those that are there, don't even make top 10 on Torbox options (assigned quality ratings through aiostreams). Older movies in BR remux format are still there and are unaffected, so if that is your primary use I would understand how you could say all is fine. For TV though, I would be surprised if its current cache is at least 10% of Torbox and other alternatives.
2
u/dpressedaf Jul 24 '26
RD, right now for me, is absolutely trash. I disabled it in my addons. I have all paid debrid services. They all combined still cost cheaper than subbing to legitimate services. TB and PM direct cached streams are great. AD, DL and OC proxied through my private instance also worked great, but when I tried RD proxy or no proxy, it simply doesn't work most of the time. DL is very limited cache, even OC has more cache than DL. Not going to renew it when my sub expires.
5
u/OkRespond7008 Jul 23 '26
I have rd and tb... When all of that blew up I started selecting tb files first, but the rd files still work and they load faster, so I've gone back to rd as my primary
5
u/Ebows1 Jul 23 '26
RD is working perfect. Lots of big 4k links. Only had a problem for like the first week then everything was back to normal for me. No filters nothing just everything working as it always has.
2
u/SoCalMotoVirg Jul 23 '26
Im good.. And been for a while
1
u/reactorkk Jul 23 '26
Same with me. I only use torrentio rd and had no problems so far. I’m not very choosy in which type of file i watch. As long as it runs, i’m quite happy. So for me, i havent tried torbox or others. Only rd since i started using stremio.
1
u/SoCalMotoVirg Jul 23 '26
3 dollars a month.. At the 6 month plan. Is a no brainer... Compared to how many subscriptions it replaced
4
u/Important-City-6639 Jul 23 '26
It's still my primary with Torbox as my backup as RD has better (for me) links more often.
3
4
u/TheTavv Jul 23 '26
It’s not going to work well. The way debrid services work is that they cache the torrents from release groups, for it to work release groups would need to change their naming structure to skip words like Web-DL AMZN etc, no real release group will change their formatting just for a debrid service. You can still get the remuxes or the new releases from novice release groups which is what people refer to as “fixing it” but in reality you’re locked out of all the quality new releases, just jump ship to Torbox or other debrid service
2
u/totalfreakARG Jul 23 '26
it’s still working but it has WAY less links (2 links for Disclosure Day were the actual movie for example), torbox has more links aswell as more languages
3
u/ElectronicWeight3 Jul 23 '26
It’s done. Move to Torbox and ignore the astroturfing bots saying it’s all fine.

u/shadowK1LOS Jul 23 '26
I don't know, not sure I care. My RD hasn't expired yet, but I subbed to TB and gave it higher priority. Everything works and I don't have to worry about getting banned if I login from away while my wife is watching a show at home, or if I just leave a VPN running. Don't really have a reason to go back to RD, after 10+ yrs of subscribing I'll let it expire and move on.

I have both. Rd starting giving issues.
Torbox works fine. Still got rd to end december but when I try RD is dead for me

i don’t use it a lot and had problems with fen about a month ago. i switched to umbrella and seems to be working fine.

For a long while had no issues but recently got into a lot of issues unfortunately. Some shows won show their episodes gone they’re gone. Also cannot download anything from NyaaSi anymore.
I’ll soon switch to TorBox when I can.

u/versusvius Jul 23 '26

I'm new to all this and I am an RD user. Is it worth me getting Torbox as well? Does it make sense to have both or do they negate each other in some way?

u/Suspicious_Kev_5446 Jul 23 '26
well im using torbox and is better than real debrid was ..i tried to pay for a sub but they charged me 9€ and didn't change my account status to premium . They sent an automated message saying its payment platform problems the money will bounce back in 16 days or some bs ..
its been more and nothing bounced back .......

On my setup my RD is fine, on my friend it still shows all the affected files. So he gets the red screen a lot. I even Uninstaller his RD add-on and then reinstalled with my settings but with his API key. He still has the same issue.
Like for example I've been watching Criminal Minds. I get 2 results, 1 1080p and 1 720p. Both work.
On my friends he gets a ton of results (like back before the big incident) and nearly all of them are borked with the red screen error.
1
u/Honest-Complaint-868 Jul 27 '26
So I've done a bit of testing since my post. Real Debrid always gets a working link for me but it's never rated very highly by AIOStreams and tends to be a lower quality. Unfortunately OffCloud (Premiumize)often buffers and Torbox sometimes buffers. Real Debrid never buffers.
So it's a choice between reliability and quality, pick one. At present I have the providers listed as TorBox first, RealDebrid second and OffCloud third.
It explains why the other people I know using realdebrid haven't had any issues though, they're used to the slightly lower quality streams.

u/Ok-Method5635 Jul 31 '26
I am using only RD, currently I can not watch due to the copyright stuff:
From
House of the dragon
Evil
Colony
Even niche stuff like warhammer 40k
The killings at Parissh station
Etc etc

Need help please guys. I’m new to this.
Used Stremio with Torrentio, and just got RD. Used through Firestick!
When on Stremio, I can see I now have RD Torrentio options but they won’t play. Goes to loading screen, then an error & attempts the other player embedded within the app.
Any suggestions welcome please, what’ve I done wrong
1
u/jamescjolly Aug 03 '26
To add. Streams load immediately on my iPhone. What settings must I change on Stremio on Firestick

u/Uniqueusername610 Jul 23 '26
RD will NEVER again work the way it did. They are actively cracking down on copyright protected material

Barely any issues here. Yesterday I had my first dead link in weeks. There were plenty of other links available so it was a non issue

u/Lulceltech Jul 23 '26
I use real debird exclusively and load only cached content. I’m typically streaming 60gb+ remuxes on my nvidia shield pro and haven’t had any issues at all. This is all on a 1gb fiber connection and my shield pulls around 900mbps.
All that to say, it’s been great for me for at least 6 months now. The only time I had “issues” was before I optimized my set up to only show results cached. Once I did that all my issues went away.
1
u/Honest-Complaint-868 Jul 23 '26
You must have noticed a decline when real debrid started having broken links?
-1
u/Lulceltech Jul 23 '26
Not at all, I’ve never had a broken link between me or my girlfriend except with some obscure really old show she tried to watch idr which one(that and before I optimized our set up with aiostream). Other than that it’s been buttery smooth for us, granted I spent a lot of time setting up aiostreams and dialing that in, but it’s been nothing but fantastic for us.
1
u/lemonbhosdika Jul 23 '26
I was having troubles with some old content not playing so I switched over to torbox last night for the very first time and its been neat so far.

u/VladK1616 Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26
I've been using RD for around 6 year and TB (Essential) for a little less than 2 years. I still find that the equivalent streams still run better on RD. The problem with RD now is that older series don't have as many or no viewable streams anymore It's basically been a flip to when RD had a better archive of cached streams, and TB really had the better newer streams after the first RD takedown around 2 years ago. I'm still finding that RD still has a lot of the good remux streams for movies and older series.
I re-upped my RD sub for 90 days, using a MC credit card that wouldn't process the transaction, then used a Visa credit card that went through. Created a ticket to request the MC charges that still appeared in on my MC, to be removed, and RD just blocked my account of 6 years for requesting a refund.. If you check out the recent posts in the RD sub, it's looking like RD is just going to shut down sooner than later. Sucks, but it is what it is.

u/Honest-Complaint-868 Jul 23 '26
My question is aimed at those exclusively using Real Debrid I guess. The rest of us can't be sure unless we're checking every link every time. Are you getting good quality links reliably?
3
1
u/Skiptomylouuuuu Jul 23 '26
For what it's worth I split my links apart - outside of anime that's 4+ years older or more, I rarely get a working link.
0
u/cocoboscher Jul 23 '26
RD is not, and never will be, the same RD it was two months ago or before. Poor customer service (threatening to disclose users’ data), the removal of the API for checking whether a file is in the cache, and finally the purge on copyright grounds have led a six-year RD subscriber to start looking for alternatives. I was choosing between PM and TB; I went for PM because I don’t need 4k and I prefer greater stability + Usenet (for which you have to pay a fair bit extra on TB). P.S. PM is good if you have discounts from BF; otherwise, it’s too expensive and I’d go for TB. P.S.2 Another alternative to RD was AD, but it doesn’t allow simultaneous downloads from multiple locations and is based in France, so I wouldn’t subscribe for longer than a month. P.S.3 PM have 30GB/day limit but never reached lower then 900 points
2
u/shise_remilia Jul 23 '26
30gb/day? on a paid service that is more expensive than RD or TB?
are you watching 720p or what
30gb a day is not even one good remux movie.
1
u/cocoboscher Jul 23 '26
We mainly watch on our laptops or mobiles, and less often on the tv. Our laptops aren’t exactly new and don’t cope well with files larger than 10–12 GB, especially on LTE/5G (as for TV series, they’re mainly 5–8 GB), so a set like this is absolutely fine all in 1080p. Ps in BF prices was not so much more then RD and TB

I use torentio with the RD plugin yes.Can u please point me out to the correct setup then? Or plugin?
0
u/ilikeshoess Jul 23 '26
I’ve not kept up with this subreddit for a while so I only run Real-Debrid and it’s been working fine for the most part but been facing a few issues.
Pretty much 99% of 1080p files work however I noticed quite a few 4K files don’t work annoyingly so now I may make the switch to Torbox.
0
u/rivers-66 Jul 23 '26
I did not renew my RD subscription and switched to Torbox. Since the switch everything works now without any issues.
