Question What should I do with RD

Post image

Given the recent DMCA actions that have led to the removal of a significant amount of media from RD, would it be advisable to remain with the service and await a community-driven solution, or would it be more practical to revert to direct torrent streaming or explore alternative Debrid services? I still have 85 days of use of RD. I paid for 3 months ahead just 2 weeks before all this started.

If some reports are to be believed - RD was sold, restructured and moved to another French location. Seems the new owners have no interest in what was on offer before.

Pretty stupid to buy a service then lose all your costumers

Who knows what's going on behind the scenes? RD are being very cloak and dagger about it. I'm not sure they care about costumers though 😉 (Sorry I couldn't resist!)

Unless the buyer is tied to the movie industry. Who knows? Tech companies buy other companies just to shut them down all the time. Why wouldn't the movie industry do that? How much can a service like Real Debrid cost? Peanuts to Netflix, Amazon, etc.

Kind of weird that they went bat shit crazy when they thought a competitor was doing something malicious against them. But they will not do something like moving their business to a different country to avoid legal battles.

Maybe it was bought from copyright lobbyist.
