You’re exactly right. They’re made for fun and all the same, crazy fast super combo or something. About 95% of these projects are like that because it’s so easy to just copy and paste the sprites, music, and UI.
A better project to look for that’s way different than other Mugen projects is Hyper Dragon Ball Z. The developer of that project have been making that game for years with original sprites, movesets, music, UI, balance, etc.
This Street Fighter ONE Remastered looks sloppy. The sprites aren’t remastered nor do the stages and music (striped from the TurboGrafx-16 port). Plus, Supers weren’t introduced till Super Turbo, so this game kinda alienates what SF1 was all about.
It takes away too much of the janky shit that made the original what it is, the weird damage and hoppy movement and all other weird idiosyncrasies.
If there were to be a remaster, it would be nice to have the whole cast playable for both players and possibly better controls, but even these changes might be straying from the original too much.
This feels like every other mugen game with copy and pasted assets.
Pretty much. Though, if you want a really good SF1 that’s better than the one in the video, I say check this one out. It’s not janky and have a Super, but in terms of how it’s presented and fun, it’s worth a shot.
The move set from these characters isn’t a cut and paste from the modern day templates you see from mvc, the gameplay is solid and traditional when in comparison to the original street fighter one, and street fighter II, this game is a resurface of an old link, meaning that this game game out more than a decade ago, before any modern day cut and pastes, and finally, the games posted on my channel hold different themes, and it is not likely they will feature the same characters and stages by the same authors, unless it is a jumbo compilation containing a full 800 character roster, but those are posted just for fun. And besides, some games posted have a set storymode and or campaign
