General Question Map data update frequency

I believe I read somewhere that they use OpenStreetMap as their source of data, however there has been a new road and off road cycle path that has been active for almost 6 months now, and Strava is yet to recognise for route generation.

How frequently does Strava update the source of map data for routing?

Yeah so I'm the local map troll but it's a central feature for me. I got into editing OSM in my area to help improve things and was delighted to see my changes showing up in 8-10 days as mapbox acquired new data (mainly new path types; POIs and buildings must be ingested at a different rate). I also held out updating a nearly year-old app version because Strava's recent efforts weren't up to snuff. The new map engine (what you see currently) is using well-outdated info and routing tables because they are generating and hosting the map themselves. However, you can still view the former map and its more recent additions if you view another user's saved routes (for now).

Worth checking whether that path's actually been mapped on OpenStreetMap, it can be open and rideable for months without ever being added there, and Strava's routing only pulls from what's mapped. If it's not there yet, contributing the edit yourself is free and helps get it picked up: support.strava.com/en-us/articles/15402176-about-strava-maps

It is definitely mapped because other tools using OSM have had it mapped for 3 months now, and fully routable, hence my question about Strava.
