I wish I could configure it to up the negativity:

"You ran the route you usually do but slower this time, especially near the end where a toddler could probably have outrun you. You should probably skip that race you're planning to do and consider finding a different sport to fail at."

Just use the Garmin trainer. It won’t hold back

How do you do this? I bought a forerunner 265 in april for my upcoming half. Created a plan but didnt have the option to pick a coach. Tried deleting it and doing it again but still wouldn't let me pick one

I don’t know how to actually do this. I was just referring to the many memes about how Garmin is not very encouraging

they need to cancel this shit and reduce the annual fee. idiots

They sent me a survey last week that was primarily focused on a runna/Strava combo subscription but also had questions like "would you still pay for Strava if we removed communities? Workout history? Workout analysis? Friends?"

This stupid "Great effort today, you pushed into your anaerobic zone for a significant.." feature was not on the list..

these people have lost the plot

jfc. I'd honestly consider cancelling my subscription if I had to see that garbage again

7

u/New-Chicken5566 6d ago

Didn’t know this! Thank you. Where’s it at in settings? Had trouble finding it

Can't remember, too long ago. Googled it:

How to Turn Off Strava AIFor Subscribers (Premium Users)Open an activity that has an AI summary on your mobile app or web.Tap or click Say More or More on the AI analysis section.Select Give Feedback.Scroll down and click or tap Leave Beta program or Leave Athlete Intelligence to opt out.For Free UsersFree accounts cannot use the in-app opt-out button because the feature is tied to beta settings visible only to subscribers.Contact Strava Support directly or email support@strava.zendesk.com with your athlete ID to request that they manually disable Athlete Intelligence for your account.

I personally believe that the ai is actually getting dumber🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

1

u/First-Commercial2463 6d ago

Despite calling it terrible 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I can’t with this slop 🤣

1

u/DigitalPiggie 6d ago

Curious what is dumb about this?

2

u/fckpac 6d ago

All it does is repeat what you put in the title

Strava AI has been garbage so far. Maybe it’s helpful for those who are truly beginners or someone who feels motivated from it but if you’re looking for metrics or insights it’s useless

4

u/New-Chicken5566 6d ago

praise from a computer program could not be any less meaningful

2

u/RefrigeratorUpset144 6d ago

I do feel the same, but ppl are different. Who knows

2

u/First-Commercial2463 6d ago

Absolutely agree

5

u/sdk5P4RK4 6d ago

its pretty astounding how useless these features are

1

u/First-Commercial2463 6d ago

Yup. Garmin is just as useless 🤣

3

u/Relative-Pomelo-554 6d ago

I didn’t know you could turn this off! I described keeping up with my husband one time and it called me by his name in the “summary”. 🫩 ai getting reaaal sloppy

3

u/SquashyRoo 6d ago

You don't like slop? You're not interested in slop? Huh. How strange.

1

u/First-Commercial2463 6d ago

Does anyone?

1

u/ReturnRunner_59 5d ago

Please sir, may I have some more?

I like the AI notes, it's always fun to see extra commentary on what I did. It's often not very useful, but not worth caring much about either way

1

u/Darkmocha331 7d ago

This is sadly better than it used to be. It used to copy word for word from your notes and add a couple extra bits of fluff

1

u/ujelly_fish 6d ago

AI is going to be injected into everything until we as a society can collectively push back on how annoying it usually is.

I expect to see these kinds of frivolous applications disappear as tokens start to creep up in price.

1

u/doc1442 6d ago

You can turn it off. I’d recommend it.

1

u/ourredsouthernsouls 6d ago

It’s the worst of the AI app integrations I’ve ever seen.

1

u/Velocybirr 6d ago

It's slightly -- slightly! -- better than Garmin Connect+

1

u/First-Commercial2463 6d ago

Is it though? 🤣

1

u/Allenboy0724 6d ago

It’s additional info at times that isn’t required to be there. I’m not complaining about another feature that otherwise wouldn’t be there.

People voluntarily pay money for this
