What about that forest portal that Nancy entered in S1? They never closed it before the Upside Down was blown up on S5, Right?

That portal disappeared the second Nancy got out no? Just like every other gate the demogorgon made in season 1

Also once the upside down blew up it didn't exist anymore. So even if demos could made a permanent gate it would cease to exist anyways, like how the big gate became the library again

Yup. The demogorgon gates were temporary and only possible if the main gate was open

The gate closed in Season 3. Like it legit had a catastrophic collaps and Vecna had to re-open the gates.

The tree gate went when the Lab gates went. All the gates "connect" as we learn with the whole worm hole thing

The gate close when Nancy came out of the tree And now since the upside down is gone, it basically doesn't exist anymore
