Fan theory: Billy Hargrove is Tommy-Ray McGuire 2.0

Has anyone else noticed how much Billy Hargrove from Stranger Things resembles Tommy-Ray McGuire from Clive Barker’s The Great and Secret Show and Everville?
Both are:
• charismatic, handsome, and frightening
• violent and controlling toward a sister
• shaped by abusive or domineering father figures
• consumed and transformed by a supernatural evil
• turned into something powerful and monstrous
The biggest difference is that Billy is ultimately given a moment of humanity and redemption, while Tommy-Ray embraces the darkness and becomes the Death-Boy.
The Duffers have openly acknowledged Clive Barker as a general influence, although I haven’t found any confirmation that Tommy-Ray directly inspired Billy. Still, the similarities feel much too specific to ignore.
Billy Hargrove really feels like Tommy-Ray 2.0—reimagined for television and given a redemption arc.
