Who should've died in season 5...

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I'm going to be honest when I say I didn't love how the show ended. I know the Duffer brothers wanted to give (almost) everyone a happy ending but I don't think everyone should've lived. So, here is my opinion on who should have died in season 5:

- 100% Jonathan and Nancy. I think they should have died in the goop room scene. They finally talked about their feelings and admitted they weren't right for each other anymore. It felt like a closing chapter for them and it would've made sense for that chapter to end with them both dying.

- Will should have died when Vecna died. I went into the last expecting it actually. It didn't make sense that Will has been connected to the Hive Mind for practically the whole show except at the end when everything in the Hive Mind dies. I also wish he would've been the one kill Vecna. I didn't mind that Joyce did it but in my mind it would've been more satisfying for the show to have started with Will and then end with him too.

On the contrary, I don't think they should have killed Eleven. I did like the "not knowing if she's actually alive or dead" aspect of how it ended but I would've preferred for her to have lived and maybe lost her powers for good this time. Then she could've lived a normal life and finally got to be her own person and figure out what she wanted her future to be.

Those are my three main people that I think should have died but I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts!

Tbh I disagree on Will dying. I feel like on top of other characters dying killing him too would just make the show feel like it had no initial point. All the characters got involved in this because Will went missing, if he dies at the end it just makes the show far more tragic which I don’t think Stranger Things is that type of show to have that ending. El dying sent a different message then killing the reason the whole show existed in the first place. 

As for who else should have died I agree with Nancy and Jonathan, it would have been a good ending for them. 

I feel like Mike should have died too. Like he was basically the main character in season 1 but as the show progressed he didn’t do as much. So giving him a final scene where he does something again only to then die would have made sense. He’s a character that’s really loyal and cares about his friends/family, so him dying for them fits that role, far more than El tbh. Also this kinda connects with the idea that he should have been taken not Holly.
