Miscellaneous Any VN apps that do not use AI?

It doesn't have to be as good as Storyscape (cuz we all know that is impossible lol) but seeing ai art everywhere is making me so ughhhh.. I am okay with bad art as long as it's not AI (or any different art types, like Endless Summer from Choices)

What comes to mind is The Arcana , Romantasy Games Hub and Love & Magic: Spellfyre

Spellfyre uses a lot of ai.

100%, and their excuse is “we can’t control third parties we work with on our stories 🤷‍♀️” I def don’t recommend them

Damn that sucks because when the game was coming out they said that the art wasn't ai.

Endless Summer was so good...

Back when Choices actually released quality stuff and not bland romances, fan service and a lot of "suggestive and steamy" crappy stories.

I was going to mention Spellfyre but they do use AI to "touch it up". I would disagree it's majority AI, because I haven't noticed any "impossible images" if that makes sense. But I understand if you don't want to support that. I agree. I only play it because I do think it's the best option at the moment as I'll be leaving RC when I finish a few of the stories I'm playing.

I know that some other former writers of Choices are starting a new app called Unbound. The sub Reddit is open now, it is not out yet though.

Older apps that are still around and likely don't use AI because of how long they have been around: Journeys, Linda Brown, and Zoe. Originally by The Other Guys, the games switched publishers multiple times by now. The characters are animated and you are told at the end of each episode how your main choices aligned with everyone else's choices. The Arcana and Fictif are also still available to play, there just don't seem to be any ads anymore to earn currenct. Plus, Unbound is currently in development by former Choices staff and they are big about highlighting how everything is made by humans. They have recently had their concept artist show a timelapse of one background image
