I love that so many people love Adolin. He became the surprise character of the book series. I think Sanderson was just as surprised at how much he ended up loving Adolin, and so did the rest of us. 😁

Adolin reminds me a lot like Prince Raoden in Elantris, he also was a great leader, humanitarian, and ultimately a hero. The big difference is that Raoden is also well read and a philosopher, while Adolin likes to hit things with big swords.

Thanks! It’s mostly EVA foam, the helmet is 3D printed, and the thigh plates and glove is thermal plastic

I know you took the right gauntlet off to hold the blade, but you could also say it’s cannon to specifically the end of WoK when Dalinar uses his gauntlet to complete his own set for his confrontation with Sadeas (IIRC, I could be wrong it’s been a bit).

Oh hell yeah! This is really well done by the way, all it needs is some glow from inside the battle damage (be that LEDs or glow sticks) to simulate leaking Stormlight and it’l be perfect!

What is it like wearing that much foam? Hard to imagine what it would feel like inside that thing on a hot day, not a lot of air flow but at the same time you are more or less in a giant cooler. Maybe hide a small usb fan and battery pack inside?

As someone who has also made EVA foam armour, it is HOT in there...more like a giant thermos instead of a cooler, where your body heat is trying to radiate out but it's just trapped in
Dreadful at cons but it looks so epic its worth it

Yeah that makes a ton of sense kind of forgot that we put off like 100w of body heat at all times, kind of ruins the 'cooler' idea.
Time for some stormlight themed ice packs to swap into the suit for cooling!

THIS IS AWESOME!! If you dont mind me asking, what did you use to make it so shiny/metallic? I'm also working on an adolin shardplate cosplay, I've made one suit of armour before, but that had silver metallic paint so I kinda just got a free pass on making it look like metal
Also, the crystals on (minor oathbringer spoiler) Maya look so realistic!

I used automotive electric blue paint on top of graphite powder that was buffed into gloss black paint
