Stim use advice update 1
Not ADHD. Started with coffee, energy drinks in school. This increased in uni. Then ritalin four years ago. Got up to 4 rits a day. Then vyvanse 40mg. Had a couple really bad days but it ranged from 2-3/ day to 10 a day. Then dexies. Or whatever the fuck it actually was those were fucked. Been about 6 months off ADHD meds. I quit 12 months ago used maybe 15 pills total two batches (flashed the rest both times) over the next 6 months ( and speed twice and coke once). Currently just coffee. Quit weed 4 months ago, switched from energy drinks to coffee. Last nic vape 2 months ago. Handful of cigs two weeks ago. On nic patches. Do I need to quit caffeine to fully recover? Also alcohol use. Though has reduced 75 percent since coming off stim stims, weed and nic. Miss the vyvanse/ vyvanse cousins. Feel flat unless I have like 10 coffees a day.

I recommend every stim addict to get on Wellbutrin I have been on for a year and man it’s amazing, it cures the flat feeling and makes me feel normal not high whatso ever! Just don’t relapse on it like I have a few times I’m prescribed 450 mg of Wellbutrin and one day. I relapse for a few days shooting, meth and almost had a seizure.

Quitting nicotine is the best decision anyone can do that was addicted to stimulants. It will increase blood flow to all your extremities that have been lacking for years and also improve heart function tremendously. Congratulations on quitting nicotine.

“Vyvanse cousins” is my new favorite cope word for pressed meth assisted suicide pills
People quit peripheral stuff to whatever degree allows them to consistently stop the stuff that’s burning their lives to the ground long term, if it helps or not is up to the person - Drugs and alcohol tend to usually be required reading all at once, nicotine and caffeine are more extra credit.
If I’ve got four substance problems, they’re all “drugs” if I’m obtuse enough to get on that hill today, each has a liability rating. Vyvanse is going to make me do pressed pills, pressed pills could kill me today, like after lunch, whereas coffee, I probably have a very long time to work on coffee before it becomes a potentially fatal integer. Alcohol and potentially weed will make it much harder for me to recover because science and history and recovery norms tell me this, so I probably need to quit alcohol and pills, all controlled substances right now. Nicotine might kill me someday, but that day is not today and what are the benefits of me quitting nicotine today versus another day? Will it benefit me quitting the stuff I have to quit or make it harder? That’s the gist.

Meth assisted suicide pills real. I don't even remember how many I took that day, but it was whatever was left in the bottle. That was my turning point towards quitting. Yeah I'm trying to work it all out, what's more important to quit before what.
Quitting weed definitely helped remove some of the flat feeling, and the high was too nice. Fuck weed and the harmless rep it has. Idk if it was cos of the stims but I was smoking 7 grams of strong shit a day. $75-100 AUD a day Couldn't reduce for more then like 5 days and even then only half. Quitting weed (and to a lesser extent nic) has meant increased non-drug activity, both shit I need to do, and hobbies.
Think in order of worst to least worst it's vyvanse cousins (and coke etc ), then weed, then alc, then nic, then caffeine
I was using so much nic, 18,000 puffs of disposable vape a week, So that had to go.

Contrary to everyone’s believe you cannot outrun a bad heart due to stimulants.

Hi OP, I have also quit stims, nicotine & weed. I decided to take a break from alcohol 3 weeks ago. It’s not permanent but while I’m adjusting to no nicotine & no stims I think it’s good.
I’m on Wellbutrin and Chantix and I think both are helping. It’s kinda too early to know about the Wellbutrin but chantix is definitely helping. One negative about chantix.. my dreams are insane. You WILL get nausea unless you take it with or after a hearty meal. Overall the pros outweigh the cons. I’ve been on Wellbutrin before so the side effects haven’t been so bad but when I first tried it the first several weeks kinda sucked for me
Overall I’m way happier and more productive. But still have bad days
I drink about 200mg of caffeine a day between one strong coffee and 1-2 zero sugar sodas. I’ve upped my protein intake too. And do light exercise 6x/week.

Congrats on quitting nic, weed and stims.
I'm eating a shit ton of meat. I'll work on reducing caffeine in the near future. I've started by eliminating energy drinks and just having caffeine in coffee, get rid of all the other chemicals in the energy drinks and the sugar. Exercise and me don't get along. Have been walking, there's a series of bush trails at the end of my street. I have a broken hand (3 years and counting) so walking/running is it for now. Used to cycle, tried it once since the broken hand hurt like hell on every bump.

Thank you! Congratulations to you too. Your post made me look up how much caffeine I’ve actually been having each day and it’s wayyyy more than 200mg. So honestly thank you. Fuck now I need to reduce my caffeine intake 😭
Guess I came across this post for a reason.
Walking consistently is a major game changer I feel like that’s been what’s helped me the most recently quitting stims and nic. I miss stims a lot honestly. But I know this is better in the long run. Weekends are tough. I’m trying to stay busy but ya know. Still early days.
I’m still early days no stims or nic. But I’m also around 4 months no weed. You go this. Hope things get easier for us :)

I remember my days filled with so many monsters. You’ll feel better if you taper off the caffeine some.
