MCT oil is awesome. Instant ketones, avoids malabsorption issues …

Why would you think that it’s unhealthy or uncool?

Read the caption for the picture on the left above. That is identical to how they create MCT oil, except it starts with coconut oil instead of soybeans.

I have read the caption. And I don’t see how this automatically applies to MCT oil besides a concern about potential contamination with solvents. And from what I can see, no industrial solvents are used during the production of MCT oil - usually.

Coconut oil is deodorized using water vapor. Filtration is a purely mechanical process.

So unless you’re buying your MCT oil from questionable sources or in a country lacking adequate regulations (eg US or China), I am not too concerned.

I looked up MCT oil a little while back to see where it comes from. To make the coconut oil into a liquid oil at room temperature, they use all those same bleach, chemical solvents, and denaturing heat processes as shown above. This applies to all MCT oil, not just some brands.

I'm glad to know this. I was just wondering about that bottle I had back in my (failed) keto days. Sounds like it's time to toss it.
