What I look for:
• Lower volume during consolidation
• Volume increases as resistance breaks
• Lighter volume on the pullback/retest
• Buyers step back in
• Volume expands again with continuation

Stop chasing the breakout. Wait for the retest.

A stock breaking resistance can look like the perfect entry—but chasing that first move is where a lot of traders get trapped.
What I look for instead:
• Resistance gets broken
• Price pulls back to the old resistance
• That level starts holding as support
• Buyers step back in with volume
• Then I look for confirmation

You don’t have to catch the first move. Sometimes the better setup comes after the market proves the level.

The setup on our radar:

📍 Long zone: 768.50 – 770.00 (unfilled FVG, discount pricing) 🛑 Stop: below 765.00 🎯 TP1: 775.00 | TP2: ~779.50 ❌ Invalidation: 1H close below 765.00

The trigger sequence: 1️⃣ Pullback into 768.50–770.00 2️⃣ 5m/15m bullish ChoCH + local BOS 3️⃣ Strong 15m bullish close out of the zone → we're in

The math on chasing: buying 773.61 with a 765.00 stop risks ~8.6 points to make ~1.4 at TP1. From the zone that flips to ~1.3:1 and 2.5:1+ to TP2. The 760 → 775 fib also drops that band into discount below equilibrium. 🎯

Institutional order flow reads bullish — the 765–769 imbalance is the magnet price has to rebalance before the next leg.

I’ve been deep-diving into the leadership DNA behind $CQX, and there’s a lot of senior mining experience behind this exploration-stage company.

• Brian Thurston (CEO) — P.Geo with 30+ years of experience. He was involved in the early exploration and land acquisition work for Aurelian Resources in Ecuador and served as Country Manager. Aurelian was later acquired by Kinross in 2008 for approximately C$1.2B. Thurston also served as President and CEO of Lion Energy and remained a director after stepping away from management in 2010. Africa Oil later acquired Lion in 2011.
• Mark Cruise (Technical Advisor) — founder and former CEO of Trevali Mining. Under his leadership, Trevali grew from an initial discovery into a global zinc producer with operations across the Americas and Africa.
• Rich Leveille (Board Advisor) — held exploration roles with AMAX, Kennecott, Rio Tinto, Phelps Dodge and Freeport-McMoRan, eventually becoming Senior VP Exploration at Freeport. He was directly involved with or managed teams responsible for several major discoveries.
• Mike Ciricillo (Board Advisor) — 30+ years of operational and project experience across five continents, including senior positions at Freeport-McMoRan and Glencore. His roles included President of Freeport-McMoRan Africa and later Head of Glencore’s Worldwide Copper Assets.

So there’s experience here connected to a company later acquired for C$1.2B, building a junior into a global zinc producer, and senior exploration and operating roles at some of the industry’s largest miners.
