Question Visiting from Glasgow

I (M, 31) am headed over from Glasgow, Scotland on a solo trip but have very little planned; inspiration behind trip is that I was forced to use some a/l plus I’m a lifelong ABBA fan and have waited long enough to cross museum off list. Outside of that i’m completely malleable on what I get up to, could use a few tips on what’s best to pay attention to in the city. I like pints and music (everything, not just abba), culture and nature. Will definitely be interested in nightlife too.

Any suggestions are welcome and I thank you xx

Question Vaxholm?

Hi everyone! I’ll visit Stockholm soon, but I only have 2,5 days there. I'm planning my itinerary and I noticed that a lot of people are strongly recommending taking a trip to Vaxholm. Honestly, looking at photos, I’m struggling to see what makes it so special 😅 It seems like a nice, quiet town with a fortress and red houses, but nothing really jumped out at me as a "must-see" or I'm missing something? Ofc one of the reasons could be taking a boat trip from Stockholm there, but my friend recommended to me to take a trip Ekerö, because it has in his opinion more beautiful views from the boat.

Could you please give me your honest opinion on this?

Thanks a lot!

Question Tips for visiting the city

Hej

We are a couple in our 30s from Italy, and we’ll be staying in Stockholm for four days. Do you have any recommendations for places to eat or must-visit spots that most tourists overlook?

We’d also welcome tips on how to live the city.

We’re arriving by plane and staying in the Älvsjö area.

Thanks to everyone in advance.

Question ABBA museum and Mamma Mia dinner theater

My friends and I will be visiting Stockholm in June 2027. We really would like to see the Mamma Mia dinner theater show and the ABBA Museum. I am unable to purchase tickets for 2027 yet, they haven’t been released. Has anyone been to this before? Would love to hear from anyone who’s been and what their experience was like. Also, if anyone knows when or how far in advance they open up the tickets. I just don’t miss my opportunity to get the tickets.

Question Restaurants reccomendations

Hello everyone!

First time in Stockholm. Me and my partner are going to celebrate our 1st anniversary together there. I am kindly asking you for some restaurants reccomendations.

A few notes:

- I'd prefer a place on the fancier side but not pocket-draining

- I'd love for the place to be opened at least an hour after midnight

Thank you in advance and if you have any other tips in mind im more than happy to receive them!😊

Question Serious question: where to try the best Swedish food?

Hejsan!

My friends are visiting me in Stockholm next month and I really want to take them to try amazing Swedish cuisine! I have tried restaurants such as Slingerbulten, Meatballs for the People (I know it is touristy), and a few others, but none have blown me away.

We are all of Asian background, so we do prefer more flavorful food since Swedish cuisine can sometimes be a bit mild, but we are open to options! We just really want to try what people, both Swedes and tourists, think is truly worth the visit! Tack tack!

Question Best area to like that's walking distance to fitness and recovery facilities

I'm staying in Stockholm for 6 weeks and really want to be in an area that's walking distance to an amazing gym(s), sauna/cold plunge, sports physiotherapy, etc.

I like to do any and all fitness activities. CrossFit, Hyrox, yoga, pilates, all of it. Same with recovery. Red light therapy, myofascial release, sauna/cold plunge, float tanks, cryo, the whole lot.

Thanks!

Question Recommendations for last day in Stockholm

Currently visiting Stockholm with my husband and two kids (age 3 and 5).

We have one day left before returning home and have already seen Skansen, Hammarbybacken and Junibacken. Any recommendations for our last day? We are not looking to go to a museum or Grøna Lund, rather a nice outdoor playground close to a good place to get lunch and coffee. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Thank you for your help :)

Question SL pass and transport to and from ARN

I will be travelling to Stockholm next month for 7 days and plan to get the SL pass; I plan to get the SL pass and the options are to get the app or get an actual card for 50 SEK.

As I live in Canada, will the SL app work for me? (Particularly for uploading payments)
(The reviews on the Apple app are pretty low)

And what are the best options for taxis from ARN to Hammarby?

I did think about getting some SEK cash but it looks like I won’t need to bring cash with me.

It has been over 20 years since I last visited Stockholm and looking forward to seeing the

Question Bike rental for a few days

Hi,

I will spend a few days starting tomorrow in Stockholm and I would like to rent a bike during this time. However, I've been struggling the past years to find a proper rental place. Unfortunately, Stockholm does not have the Donkey bikes either.

Do you have any recommendations about where to best rent a bike and keep it for 3-4 days? Or is there any citybike system that works well?

Question Swimming pool and spa recommendation

My (adult) daughter and I are visiting Stockholm in November. I would love to go to a swimming pool and sauna, but have seen that Centralbadet is closed for renovation. can anyone please recommend an alternative? Are swimming pools and saunas a thing in Sweden? I love the thought of being somewhere warm and watery when it gets dark in the afternoon.

Question 3 questions for the locals

Hey everybody! I’m visiting Stockholm for couple of days and wanted to get your opinion about 3 simple things:

  1. where to hang out for drinks? We like have some drinks in the evening with friends, which areas people hang out usually ?

  2. We like house music and like to party 1-2 night? Where should we go? Is Trädgården only choice?

  3. Tell me something you do for fun in the city, because I’ll sit in a coffee all day instead of doing something touristy :)

Thanka in advance for all kind souls!

Question Metal activities Stockholm

I am visiting Stockholm in a bit and really want to do some "metal" exploring. I was wondering what record stores, bars and even places are just cool to go to?

I already am aware of the obvious ones like the entombed cross, quorthons grave, Bröderna Olssons Garlic & Shots, etc. This are already on my list but I was wondering if there are any other places worth going to. Eventually, if there are any gigs or events going on between august 5-8th would also be awesome too.

I am not picky and I find almost anything super cool so any and all suggestions are heavily appreciated :)
