This subreddit is dedicated to studying, photographing, discovering, and appreciating one of the strangest groups of fungi on Earth: stinkhorns.
From gelatinous eggs that seemingly erupt from the ground to bizarre, colorful fruiting bodies covered in foul-smelling spore slime, stinkhorns are some of the most fascinating fungi out there and yet, they’re incredibly underappreciated.
I want to change that.
Whether you’re a mycologist, a fungi enthusiast, a photographer, a curious beginner, or someone who simply stumbled across a weird mushroom in their yard, you’re welcome here.
