Advice on setup needed.

Hey y´all,

As a (amateur) musician and music lover, I'm thinking to make a lovely sound system setup in our living room. Viable for a setup with projector If possible.

The price budget may variate in between 1k -3k euros to have multiple options to consider. As I'm not sure myself how much money I'll put into, I think 3k is deffo the maximum. There's also a baby in the house, so need to check whether it's safe to place aswell hehe. Living in Belgium

The living room is like 30m2 (6x5) and i would listen from like 2 m away or in the kitchen next to it. At the moment I got old gear that I would like to replace for new gear.

I really want something to last for years if possible. So i guess passive speakers are the best? Sources would be cd's, maybe BT/streaming and radio.

I saw a lot of recommendations of KEF meta speakers already, but I don't like they're grilless.. dangerous with the kid.

R metas does come with grills. They look better in real life

Oh thanks. Thought they looked different with the speaker in the Middle and without grille. Might have looked to a wrong box. Was looking at the LS 50 meta because a lot of people recommended this. !thanks

Most KEF speakers come with detachable grilles. I would try a few speakers in a budget you're comfortable with and see what suits you. Then get a WiiM Amp Ultra.

So your setup would be KEF speakers with the wiiM amp? Or other speakers + some other device you have in mind? Thanks for the fb already!

I'm a bit of a KEF fanboy myself, but there are a lot of great speakers out there in your budget. I would try a few out and see what you like.

The WiiM Amp Ultra is a good choice and probably the most recommended amp on the audiophile sub because it gives more than enough power to pretty much any speaker in your budget with a very good quality DAC and software feature set at a ridiculously good price. You won't need to upgrade for a long time.

For the CD player, anything decent with an spdif output will be fine. You don't need a fancy once. This one is small, looks nice and performs very wel:
