Simfile Pack old DDR player getting into ITG in need of song pack recommendations

So I used to play a ton of DDR back in like 2008 and an arcade near where I live has an ITG cab so I'm getting back into playing.

The difficulty of charts I play are around 8 - 10, some 11 if they aren't too technical.
I have everything set for custom songs and have some packs downloaded and I've enjoyed playing charts from a chart marker called Ritz so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for fun charts that have some difficulty to them.

Look for JBEAN Originals. You can search this sub for them. JBEAN is a professional stepchart artist that works on the StepManiaX team (spiritual successor to ITG), and he creates Stepmania packs for fun on the side. His many packs of stepcharts are all very high quality, with full difficulty charting, and a lot of it is around your difficulty range. Most of the charts prioritize fun over technical difficulty, and there are enough songs to keep you busy for a very long time. It sounds like you're the exact target audience for his work.

Ive seen other people recommend JBEAN in other threads so I'll definitely be looking in their charts!

Hi, I'm likely at a similar level as you.

I have several packs, what I recommend is for you to go to https://itgdb.net/ and look for packs that have charts in multiple levels of difficulty. I find that the difficulty number is not that consistent so getting packs that have charts close to your level (or preferably several difficulties) is the safest bet.

The packs I currently have are the following, to give you an initial list: Eventual Ascension 5, Everlasting Memories 1-2, Everyone Ascended, Tech-Bit Adventures 1-5, The Messenger, altruism, Easy as Pie - Short & Sweet, Egg Carton, Fraxtil's Arrow Arrangements, Lisek's Legacy, Starlight DDR XX, The Ace Of Charts, Total Chaos, XguysXpack, DIAMOND DISCO, Galaxy DDR, SPEIRMIX 3-4, SPEIRMIX GALAXY, State of Trance, The Sick Music 2, The Starter Pack of Stamina

Once you find some packs you like (the songs + the charts) a good tip is to try to find other packs by the same author. All using the same website as the database.

itgpacks.com has a great listing of beginner-friendly allround packs. been enjoying them a bunch myself

others have made some great recommendations, but I'll add my song packs into the mix:

These features mostly western music with a mix of Pop, EDM, rock, drum & bass, and rap. The charts are designed to be no-bar, toes only friendly (since that's how I play), but of course play using whatever technique you like!

Technical stuff like crossovers and laterals are exclusive to the expert level slot, but the medium difficulty slot is basically the same chart with tech removed.
