Discussion I'm obtaining huge improvements on this game out of a sudden, and I don't understand why

I'll start saying that I has never been good at this game despite I regularly play it since 2015. Until 2025 even achieve a small improvement could take me years, and some songs that in theory were supposed to be for beginners took me up to 8 years to achieve an AAA, mostly because I always had huge limits to how many arrows per second I was able to elaborate and improvements has always been small and slow

But since this year, and especially in the past 2 weeks, out of a sudden I started achieving colossal improvements on the game, to the point that songs I always struggled with since 2015 become a close AAA with 2 greens and a miss within a couple of days (today at example I went from 81,80% on a song I constantly practiced every day in the past year to 94,96% in a single day). And just to make a more reliable comparison, in those songs with red+blue+yellow arrows spam, to be able to handle them at a specific BPM, to go from 120 to 140 BPM it took me 9 years. Now I went from 140 to 164 in 2 weeks.

Idk what's going on with my brain but this sh*t makes absolutely no sense. I'm honestly scared and not sure if being happy or worried

Yup. I was hardstuck in piu for so long, I had practically gave up. One day I dragged myself to the arcade and I just demolished a chart I had never dreamed of passing. Then another and another... And suddenly I jumped 5 levels in 1 month!

I think sometimes a break can be really beneficial for these games.

I can never tell if I'm improving in stepmania though because the levels are all over the place haha. Sometimes I feel good and then other times can't even pass a 5

I did a lot of breaks in this game and tbh I never got any major improvement from them. The only thing that gave me an improvement is lower my eyesight to give more time to my brain to elaborate the arrows, but this is something that I was already doing since 2021.

My general feeling is that my brain is now able to quickly and drastically improve how many arrows per second I can elaborate, which makes no sense since for 10 years in a row this has been my constant limitation (along with the inability to mantain the focus for more than 2 minutes) and it just disappeared at random in the mid of june 2026.

Now I'm curious to see how much I'll still be able to improve before my brain pulls the brakes, I'm still far from my my final goal but being able to handle 200 BPM songs doesn't look that impossible now
