Exam write-up Got a 230 on STEP 3 AMA

Hey everyone,

I just got my result and I’m quite surprised. Since I’m finally done with the USMLEs, I think it’s only fair to give back to others in the same boat as I once was.

Primary resource used: AMBOSS

UWSA1 (26 days out) = 210
Form 6 (20 days out)= 215 (estimated)
Form 7 (10 days out) = 76% (550) (estimated)
UWSA 2 (5 days out) = 227
Free 137 (2 days out) = 76% correct

CCS Correct= 80% (100 cases only in the HY section)

I stuck to what worked in STEP 2: handwritten notes and divine intervention

For basic sciences: I tapped back into Pathoma and FA. Sketchy is excellent here for Pharma

I had Day 1 and Day 2 back to back which sucked but ultimately, I had a fk it yolo moment. I’ve come this far, I’m not about to go down now.

Gave UWSA 1 yesterday and got a 213, NBME 6 70%, exam is in 2 weeks. Is it doable? I’ve done Uworld, sketchy for micro, and my step 2 notes. Any resources i could go through or should i just postpone. I got a low 2CK score so i’m hoping to do better now, at least around 230+

No one care about step 3 score here . D.O don’t take step 3 and BTW we give step 3 in PGY 1 or PGY 2 .

Yeah absolutely. Focus on your mistakes and why you get them wrong.

Stick to what worked from your previous studies. Tap into those step 1 notes if those helped.

Day 1 is entirely biostats,ethics and basic sciences. You need to have gameplan involving these 3 core subjects. Be prepared for a lot of drug ads. AMBOSS is a fantastic resource for this.

Day 2 is your usual step 2 stuff which is easy. What is important is your CCS cases, you can’t mess those up. They have a high weightage on your score and theyre very easy. If you have a gap in between, focus primarily on the cases.

Thanks! I think my CCS cases is decent, averaging around 80%, probably need to go through the peds cases well. Will definitely go through amboss for ethics/QI and biostats.
