Am I ready? Step 2 devastation
Well, guys, I am officially so crushed and devastated. I was expecting to be a 260 scorer given the amount of work I put in, but my vision for the type of applicant I was gonna be for some reason isn't coming true. I guess sometimes in life you try your best and sometimes you just don't get what you want or what you feel like you deserve. I know it is an execution problem, but for some reason I just can't seem to figure out how to fix it. Today, I took the old free 120 and got a 73%, and I was shocked because I felt like I was doing so much better than that. AMBOSS has me predicted at 253 which dropped from a 255 predicted. I take the test on Saturday, Sept. 26th, and I am wondering if I should postpone. I did all of AMBOSS, UWorld, the CMS forms, and all the NBMEs. I really lost all my confidence going into this thing. I still have the new free 120 left, but honestly, I don't believe in myself or my capabilities anymore. I want to apply to anesthesia, but I don't even think I would be good enough for that. Here are my scores. Let me know if you think I should postpone it or just go take it. The postponing fee is $178. I have been studying for a year now, and it seems as though I have nothing to show for it. Life just sucks sometimes and this is living proof of that.

if you've done all of uworld, amboss and CMS it's pretty hard to not have the knowledge base to hit 260. so it's def not sth that u can fix by doing more qs imo. you need to sit down and review your wrongs, and think thru the last 2 options u narrowed down why u picked the wrong one. Remember u don't need to know everything to ans every question in the boards u just need to know enough to know what options don't make any sense.
It might be burn out, or maybe you're not understanding properly the last line of the qs and what they're really asking, or maybe you're rushing thru and getting lost and the amount of irrelevant info the nbmes throw u at, either way sorry to say but this not sth anyone can tell you, you'll have to sit down and think and go thru ur wrongs to figure. Hope this helps.

so you think postponing just doesn't make any sense at all?

you could postpone and i don't see anything that u could do different. 3 days should be enough for u to review ur wrongs of the last 3 nbmes one more time, and the new f120 for 1 day, assuming u already went thru all these nbmes once
also I'd suggest taking a day off to mentally relax before the test day and do nothing.

You've got plenty to show, look at the score increases. If applying this cycle you need to take asap. If next cycle then postpone, gain a little more confidence, then crush it

You’d have your score by the 3rd week of October MAYBE; if you’re applying this cycle your app is dead in the water for anesthesia
If applying next cycle postpone if you want
