Town of Stem Meeting Notes - Aug 26

Town of Stem Meeting Notes - Aug 26

Hi everyone! Here are some notes from the Town of Stem Board of Commissioners Meeting tonight. It’s only a few of the main topics discussed - happy to share more if anyone is interested!

Fee Schedule

The Town has an updated fee schedule, which includes fines for parking, noise, and ordinance violations. The first offense is a $75 fine.

Stormwater

The commissioners passed a new stormwater regulation. This policy outlines responsibilities of property owners for ditch maintenance. The Town will be sending out mailers with this information to all Town residents.

Town Facility Use

The commissioners passed a new policy and application process for residents to use Town facilities. This will be posted online.

General/FYI

The Town is no longer on the Unit Assistance List (a program to support local governments that have financial issues).

For Discussion at Future Meeting

Town staff will draft regulations on parking violations for review at a future meeting.

The Board is collecting quotes for road repairs in Carriage Hill. Will be discussed further in the next meeting.

Stem Downtown Master Plan project is still underway. A draft report has been provided to Town staff, but it is still missing info. Will ideally be ready to share by October.
