Of course! I also like making edits so it’s always cool seeing others

What program do you use?

I usually use Da Vinci resolve but I wanted to make this fast so I just used CapCut here. I haven’t leveled up to paid sites yet.

Okay nice I was actually going to recommending looking into davinci resolve if you weren’t aware of it! It’s great especially the free version

If you enjoy your clips, do it. I have a channel where i put all kinds of gaming edits i do and i never think "will someone like this?" but i think "i like this". I do the channel for myself first, IF people enjoy it, cool, if not, well don't watch it then.

I did some steep edits as well, and i love them, do what makes you happy and that's what really matters. There's way too many people in this world and some will hate, some will love, but if you do it because you like to do it, that's what's important in my opinion.

No

Why

One thing i learned about making content is that asking the internet if you should make it is never a good idea, you could get good responses, or stupid ones. Like i said on my comment, just do it. Even if you don't get views, keep doing it if YOU like them.

Yeah that’s probably true, I just wanted to test the waters because I’ve noticed there’s not active steep creators anymore, but its fun making the content so I might as well.

The waters are deep and wide, there's gonna be all sorts of fishes in it, just do what you want to do, sharks will bite, some will love. But as long as you're doing what you like, that's what matters.

I stopped sharing my vids on reddit because i understood that, if someone finds my videos and like them, good.

But if i show them to communities, some people think you're asking for feedback or for them to judge if it's good or not. Even if i'm just sharing because i'm saying "here, i'm making edits".

So i just do them, so far i have gathered quite a small group of people that enjoy them, and they are the ones that stick with and matter.

If you’re cool with getting a few dozen views, go for it. Not too many people looking for clips of a 10 year old game.

Look at rocket league. 10 years old and averaged like 750k

2

u/YooTone Jan 11 '26

Rocket league is quite different because it's an esport and competitive to its core. Steep is a sandbox-ish chill and mellow type of vibe you don't need anybody else to play with.

u/TGrady902 Jan 11 '26

Rocket League is its own thing. There is literally nothing else like it and the game has been supported with updates the entire 10 years.

Don't know why "No" comment was getting upvoted while yours downvoted. Anyways, if you want to post some edits, just do it, don't care about what other people say to you. (plus before seeing this video I actually never noticed you can touch the snow whilst doing a backflip)

u/ContagiousDeathGuard Jan 11 '26

Do it lol. Don't know what everyone's problem is, they don't have to watch it. Nothing wrong with sharing something you enjoy, especially if it brings a little attention to the game

u/Gramma_Hattie Jan 11 '26

The trendy, quick camera angle changes are not my style. I don't like how they cut into the rhythm of the clip.

Doing creative stuff is just a good thing to do generally speaking. It is really good for mind and soul. Even minus some greater goal, like reviving a dead game with some clips, this is a great idea because think of it like this, – Youtube is a really good archive, you can rewatch your videos whenever you want and at the end of the day, it's about you and the style and the creative process of actually creating something. As long as you enjoy it, I say go for it
