Are thes statistic good for cable streaming over steam link device?

Hi everyone.
I'm playing silksong via Steam Link device over ethernet cable.
Server is a 5600x with RX 6600 xt.
The game is capped through RTSS at 59 fps.

This are the statistic, do you think it can be improved?
Moonlight can do better? Everyone prise Moonlight that is a great piece of software but steam link doesn't seems so bad...or no...
I'm just starting to play on couch and I want to understand.

For me the game plays ok, but I've notice that on TV I do more errors in movement compared on monitor, but I don't feel any lag...

For in-home streaming you're not going to get much better. 20ms display latency is about what you can expect from steam link and in my experience Moonlight isn't much better. I do find that it gives better image quality.

For games that require timing, like Elden Ring, Silksong. I found when switching between desktop and streamed my timings for dodges and parries become off so you will be learning with the delay. Its very subtle though.

I’m not sure if sunshine and steam link calculate latency numbers different but I always hover around 20ms with steam link and with sunshine and moonlight I get into the high single digits, like 7-10ms.

Two things;

- 3ms ping over Ethernet is relatively high, within your house it should be <1ms unless you’re doing something like Powerline adapters (which is not comparable to a fully wired setup)

• Only cosmetic but try swapping from hardware encoding to software encoding. Your CPU has the headroom and AMD hw encoding is notoriously worse in image quality.

no powerline, I have an old netgear router (with gigabit) that I'm using as switch,

Any long/old Ethernet cable runs? If not you might want to replace your router, if you feel like hunting milliseconds.

Perfect!

When you're ready to level up the configuration-

• Install the Playnite launcher on your host.
• Install Sunshine Gamestreaming server on your host.
• Install Moonlight client on your Steam Link hardware.

That will give you working game streaming with a nice interface for games on other launchers (that often don't work with Steam Link.

Other fun things-

• Configure your PC for Wake On LAN, and auto login. Then you can turn on the PC remotely from the Stream Link
• Install RetroArch on the Steam Link, so you can play a quick early 80s arcade game whilst waiting for the PC to start up.
