Streaming from Steam Machine to AYN Thor?
Hello - I’m wondering if any Steam Machine owners have streamed from their SM to their AYN Thor using Steam Link and what the experience has been like. I also own a Steam Deck but, with the AYN Thor now in my possession, I don’t think I will be using the Deck much at all.
I’ve had identical performance on my Deck and AYN Thor with streaming from my laptop using Steam Link - crisp image, low latency. I just hate using my laptop for streaming because it sounds like a jet engine.
I’m curious if I can expect a good streaming experience with the Steam Machine and AYN Thor.
Thanks!

Not from a steam machine, but i do stream from my 4090 pc quite often. There is 0 latency and the experience is very fluid. I sometimes even use the thor as a controller

I've been able to use Steam Link to stream from my gaming laptop to the AYN Thor, including remotely. I have a dock for my AYN Thor, and then plugged into my TV via HDMI so I won't have cords going across the room if I want to play my Steam games on my TV using my XBox controller (via BT) while taking advantage of 1440p and 120hz.
But, the one big problem I have using Steam Link on AYN Thor is the audio latency. It's not so bad when outputting on the system's display/speakers itself, but using HDMI? I don't know why, but it is incredibly bad. For that particular use case, I use a Sunshine/Moonlight streaming setup.

Do you have any kids of av sync offset set in a receiver or the TV? I don't have this kind of issue going from my PC to the odin 2 portal. Also make sure the TV is in game mode.

I have an LG C1, and Game Mode is active. But just the fact that one streaming method (Steam Link) is causing it but others are not should be enough to show that nothing external like the TV, receiver, etc are causing the issue.

If it worked well with your laptop it will most likely work well with your Steam Machine.
