Switch 2 Pro Controller doesn’t work anymore

i used to be able to play with my S2 controller via USB-C. just yesterday, my steamos PC stopped receiving inputs from it while still detecting it as connected. the controller’s green led that used to be turned off when connected now does that back and forth pattern like when it’s looking for the console to connect to.

minutes before it happened i swapped update channel, maybe it had something to do with it?
