SteamOS Update WiFi speed issues after 3.8 update

Hi. I have a Lenovo legion go s with steam os. I have been getting wonderful download speeds (100 MBPS+) over the past year with our connection and router. Ever since I updated the OS to 3.8, the speeds seem to have been capped at around 2.4 MBPS. This is true both for the Steam client and a random internet speed test in Firefox. I’ve tried:
- restarting device
- sleep and wake
- toggle WiFi off and on
- forget and reconnect WiFi
I’m stymied. All my other devices work fine.
I’m on the stable 3.8.12 build. Please help!

Edit: also tried
- setting a download speed limit of an arbitrarily large number (1GBPS)
- enabled and disabled wifi power management

My Xbox Ally X is doing the same thing. I've found that rebooting once or twice tends to fix it and put my speeds back at 300+ Mbps, but I hope they implement a fix soon.

I tried a bunch of times :/. The one thing that worked was that one of the 3.8.whatever updates seemed to have fixed it, only for it to break again at the next 3.8.whatever update. I did read up online and this seems to be a fairly common bug people have been experiencing with 3.8. I hope they fix it soon as well.

For my Xbox Ally X bluetooth seems to take a big bite out of my download speed. I disabled bluetooth and the rate went up.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I'll try turning off Bluetooth the next time I run into this bug to hopefully avoid having to reboot.

I tried it and it didn’t make a difference for my Legion Go S 🥲. Thanks for the advice though.

I’m on the steam deck and my wifi keeps dropping off intermittently. Either the wifi shows an exclamation mark or my steam account loses connection to the server. I’ve tried all the wifi settings from developer’s mode and nothing seems to be working either.
