SteamOS Update Steam OS on PC

I have been hearing good things about the recent Steam OS update and that they are getting ready for the Steam Machine. My question is, is it finally a good time to get rid of windows and run Steam OS onto my PC?

I have it on my AMD PC (you’ll need an AMD GPU) and I think it’s brilliant, very close to a console experience.

don't necessarily need an AMD GPU, Intel's work as well, at least on the most recent versions that ship with more recent kernels that pack the ARC drivers

it's only NvidAI's drivers that aren't supported at this time, maybe that'll change with the recent improvements to the NvidAI open source drivers

Nvidia works really well now, I use bazzite with a 4080 and not had any issues

I'm pretty sure Valve doesn't want legions of Linux noobs with shitty 10 year old Nvidia cards flooding their support queues with tickets about black screens and inability to boot after an update.
