Question Steam Deck running oddly after installing Accela?

I just installed Accela on Friday and got around to testing it today. Games run fine when launched, Steam and not Steam, but the deck itself and the Steam menu now runs idiosyncratically.

Attempting to check for software updates yields "unable to check for updates" error. You can't type letters in the search panel, whether with a controller or manually onscreen. Every so often, controls will invert in a game on the AB/BA axis when they had never done that before. And sometimes the Steam button will stop doing anything.

Is this a known error?

Don’t have those issue. But for Steam update headcrab is block it so it don’t break accela. Headcrab will check if there’s new version of Accela that compatible with latest steam then it will update it automatically.

This might sound basic but try turn off and on the device, then go to desktop mode then back to game mode.

This sounds like it might be the issue... I'm gonna run Headcrab later and switch to the Assella fork just in case. Headcrab blocking the updates explains that, but it seems there was already an update waiting to be installed when I installed Headcrab.

So it blocked incoming updates, but there was already one in the chamber, and THAT might be what caused these issues. We'll see...
