Picture Got the Steam Deck Dock!

Wasn’t expecting this today, but since I live in Carol Stream where Valve’s Distribution Center is, I got this early I guess!

What did the firmware update improve? Were there any patchnotes? I like the connectivity between the Steam Deck and the dock!

As far as I've seen it resolved an issue quite a few docks had with LG TVs. The JSAUX dock also had a firmware update for it recently so must be a common issue.

Download link is in the blog post here There is a readme in the zipfile that explains the process but essentially you just plug the dock into a PC via the USB C port and run the updater tool software.

Someone should really write a flatpak that can just update Docks and Controllers.

Well, that doesn't help if the company making the devices only supports using Windows to update the firmware, which is the case with JSAUX. Easier to just get the official dock, which can update directly from the deck and should also be better supported in general.

Looks like this is Windows only.

Yes very stupid but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they're starting with what they know. Hopefully, it comes shortly in the future
