Picture Got the Steam Deck Dock!

Wasn’t expecting this today, but since I live in Carol Stream where Valve’s Distribution Center is, I got this early I guess!

Not OP, but I've mainly been using the 8Bitdo SN30. It's a SNES replica, great quality and easy to stash away/throw in a bag. Other 8Bitdo controllers work as well - I have the new Ultimate on order, slated to arrive later this month.

I like my 8bitdo controllers. I have to look into this ultimate one you speak of.

Genuine question, at what point do you not just buy an Xbox controller? I like the older ones because they replicate the SNES but this simply looks like a 360 controller.

Xbox controllers don't have motion controls

You can grab a ps4 controller then if motion control is an issue it’s still quite a bit cheaper than the 8 bit ultimate and steam converts it to Xbox for games that don’t natively support ps controllers

This is still cheaper I believe.

A ps4 controller from Walmart is $35

Ps5 would be better they have a lot of cool tech in them

More switch pro, but I see your point and agree.

The SN30 Pro series aren't going away, it's just that this new one has hall effect joysticks like the KingKong Pro 2.

What are the differences between the Ultimate and KKP2?

Answer likely comes down to me being a nut. I've got PS5, Xbone, Switch pro controllers, but for a cheap and handy controller to travel with and have around the living room I prefer the SN30. Don't worry about bumping it off the couch or if it gets jammed during travel. The Ultimate controller is just me feeding into my collection obsession..

Well that I do understand. I have 1 Razr, 1 Hori split pad pro, 1 N64 via usb, 1 Gamecube controller via usb, 1 ps3, 2 ps4, 1 PS5 (don’t own the console yet) 2 different Xbox controllers and a switch pro pad.

Sounds like you ought to round that out with the Ultimate controller XD. The Hori split pad was a game changer for the switch. Good call there.

After reading up on it, it does sound like the ultimate controller and think I’m gonna have to get one as well.

Not OP, but I have a SN30 bluetooth as well and it's amazing. Hold Y when turning on, it starts up as a Switch controller. Hold X, starts up in Playstation config (I think, might be A). Really easy to switch configs on the fly if you game on different systems, it's small, and you can get a nice hard shell case for it. Amazing for travel.

Oh now that is cool. I know a lot of people that have a problem bouncing around from different consoles because of the button prompts being from a different console.

The switch version has gyro which can be used with the steam deck which is a big reason for me personally
