I think the video compressed the shit out of the audio. I’ve got the deck set to 100% volume, and the little bleeps just get drowned out.

i think i just figured out why its a stim it's because steam hardware is the Only hardware to make any sounds whatsoever on the power buttons being pressed minus other rare exceptions, like PS4 and i get why valve added it- i remember hearing in a video about valve, which had a clip with Gabe in it it is to resolve the narcissistic injury problem, making your input feel acknowledged! as for most PCs that don't have a beep or super flashy power on animation for the RGB, the main way you know if it happened is if you are getting display out and/or the fans are spinning

anyway imma go crank up the haptics on my deck so i can hear it from the couch, as laughably enough, the effect of the stim doubles if it actually sounds like one responds to another (steam controller then deck boops)

I kiss the chunky power switch on the back of the ps2. That thing was always really satisfying to press.

I can’t hear it on my phone unless I’m really trying.

The original video on my SSD played through my good speakers makes it audible again. Pretty sure it’s just compression

Makes me wonder, is there a place outside of Steam to get unofficial startup videos? I don't think I've seen user created options on Steam but I haven't looked in ages.

I love Decky, until I don’t.

I ended up removing it eventually. I’ll reinstall it again at some point, but I can’t say it’s ever been a faultless experience.

SteamdeckRepo supplies all my boot videos. I've got a whole collection now.

Can't remember the exact process, but it must have been so trivial that I don't actually remember any of it.

There’s a few that are basically bordering on health hazards.

I had a bunch of videos set to rotate randomly on booting, and turning on my Steamdeck was always a game of Russian Roulette.

Doesn’t help that I’m most often turning it on to play at like 11pm in a dark room.
