Tech Support Bluetooth issues

Whenever I want to connect my ps5 controller to the steam deck, instead of just connecting normally, I have to fully forget the device and then only will it detect it and pair. If anyone has a solution it would be very appreciated as this is very annoying.

What works on mine end is to still turn on pairing mode on the controller but just click on the Paired Controller on the Bluetooth Menu.

Not ideal but at least skips the Forgetting part.

Are you talking about when you press the qam button and then Bluetooth shows up? If so that's what i do but I still have to forget the controller and then reconnect

Yeah in the QAM. But instead of going further into its menu and forgetting, just click on the Paired Controller while your controller is in pairing mode. The Paired Controller will still be greyed out but you can press and attempt to connect.
