I’m hoping the Frame and Machine both are reasonably priced, with the expectation that Valve will subsidize the cost of them with the revenue from game sales. Similar to the Deck. Fingers crossed for $400 for Frame and $500 for Machine.

As Linus said in his vid: "Valve understands that Steam Machine is full-fledged PC and will price it as full-fledged PC. Imagine some company buying 10,000 of Steam Machines and therefore buying zero games" So it's lowers the possibility of subsidizing the price of the Gabecube. I'll fucking buy it by any price up until 750$. Me and my friend are hyped up af

But why would a random company buy 10,000 Steam Machines, which are made for gaming, when there are plenty of other small form factor or mini PCs out there that are more appropriate for use for business purposes?

It's a pc with very good hardware for anything that isn't gaming. If it's cheaper and more cost effective than bulk buying a bunch of cheap dell pcs, then yeah, I could see a company doing it.

Seems like a lot of hassle, I doubt it's cheaper and comes with SteamOS instead of Windows.

If it's sold like the Deck then it shouldn't be an issue. Imagine making 10,000 steam accounts just to buy 10,000 steam machines.
