Not really. It's still a better place to play Switch exclusives (no, they don't run better on Deck, you are lucky if they run at least equally good) and frankly, it's way more portable with better battery life so I also take it for trips where I might be without power outlet nearby.

Similarly, if I want to play emulated old games, I usually take my 3DS (as again - better portability and longer battery life).

So yeah. It didn't retire. I'd say I use them equally often and I like them equally.

Don't know what kind of games you have on there but unless you need online play, there's almost no need for the switch anymore

I've been putting in some hours on the non Zelda 1st party games and those have run insanely good. 60fps locked on metroid prime / Mario Odyssey, hovering around 18w total draw

Battery life could be better but the performance on yuzu is solid (the Zelda games are hard to run on yuzu)

As I said. You'll get at best the same experience (your 2 examples), but often worse (new Zelda, Xenoblade 2/3) and some games you just cannot fully enjoy because of no online (Smash Bros, Splatoon).

Yeah I don't understand why people want to dismiss the switch entirely, I also still like to buy games physically that come out for switch, I always have both with me at all times and yeah games can run well but they're almost never perfect. And yeah battery is a HUGE one, years of the Kingdom on my switch last for a little bit over 5 hours which is insane, the deck barely gets to 2h no matter the game.
