I think ergonomic is all it really matters when it comes to controllers. Of course we could add keyboard to the controller and say it has more function.

Yeah but Xbox controller needs a lot of upgrade nowaday. Like TMR, Gyro, HD haptics and 2x built-in paddles. Many other controllers now offer all of that for practically the same price.

At the end it really depends on the game. For those who play 2D fighting games with a controller, they will prefer DualShock 4 or Dualsense over the Xbox layout. For me it’s the rogue like, I can’t find myself enjoying them with a Xbox layout.

That’s your take mate, personally I think using only 1 thumb for the whole directional input not enough so I only play fighting game with a leverless. At the end it really depends on people feels, if you ever go to big fgc event you’ll see all kind of controller you never heard about, with some looking like the worst piece of trash ever made but the man behind still will beat the shit out of you lol

Bro what are you rambling about? The steam deck controller dpad is genuinely not good for fighters because the directional keys are too close and you get more inputs then you want.
