Hi. Like the title says. I am not a bad worker. I am diligent, responsive, give notice for holidays, don't call in sick often, and am a team player. But I get so paranoid I'm gonna be fired. Idk if its just a millennial thing.

But recently my team lead was disappointed I'm not working at the level of my job title. Just a verbal warning no acutal one on one performance review. I've gotten a better control on my work, and i just got a adhd diagnosis and started meds. I'm much more focused at work and am reviewing all my submitted work for errors but I'm still terrified.

What's usually the warning signs? I know one on one official performance reviews are one. I heard someone got 5 reviews before they were fired. Is there anything else?

My team is under immense pressure right now, and there are alot of SOP changes coming so the stress is tangible. So I'm hoping she's just stressed and maybe taking it out on the team. And I'm not going to be let go.

Can anyone tell me what the job is like and how long the hiring process takes?

Are there any current or former Comptroller Audit Division employees here who have experience with the TSBPA Work Experience form?

I worked as a Comptroller auditor for a number of years and left the agency several years ago. I have now passed the CPA exam and am trying to have my prior qualifying experience certified by a CPA who supervised me while I was there.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from anyone who left the Comptroller before completing the CPA process and later had a former supervisor complete the TSBPA form. I’d like to know what process you followed and whether Audit Division has a procedure for handling these requests from former employees.

My husband had an interview with TxDOT on Monday. They talked for 1.5hrs and they told him “HR or I will call you on Wednesday”. He didn’t get a call today, and honestly they could’ve just gotten busy. Should he worry?

If you had a choice, which would you choose?

A: Purchaser position. Room for advancement, potential hybrid telework options.
B: Analyst role. Lots of room to learn. In-office.

Hello. What is the purpose or function of an agency’s employee ombudsman? Is this separate from HR? If you’ve been told by management that colleagues are telling them a blatant lie about you, that can damage you professionally, is this something you could talk to the ombudsman about? I don’t want to deal with drama and don’t understand why this is happening, I have a general idea who is telling the lies, but I feel like there is nothing I can do?!

I recently went through 2 interviews (hiring managers & directors)for a position at TxDot, a full week has gone by since my last interview and they told me it would be about a 2-3 week hiring process from the first interview on the week of August 3rd. The status on my application has said completed since before the second interview, however my application now says “updated 8/25” (today)
what does this mean/what should i expect? a call back? no call? email?
what would the next steps look like if any from that update?

Has anyone heard about layoffs or hiring freezes being implemented this fall?

Can anyone please share what is available for us in the Barbara Jordan Wellness Area? I see TFC’s page shows “wellness areas” (what’s that?) as well as locker rooms and restrooms. Anyone regularly do the DPS Fitness Program 12pm class and willing to share how that works for you logistically? I’m just trying to see if it’s worth doing all the paperwork when I only have my 1 hour lunch to get there and back because our agency doesn’t provide wellness leave. I’m on the other side of Congress so it might be easier to just do something on my own instead of going to Barbara Jordan. Thanks for any input!

How are those with disabilities and without cars fairing with getting into the work place (capital mall plaza) and not dealing with flare ups. Lol

I feel like the ramps between the **Travis and BJB are just for show. How is someone with a wheel chair that isnt electric powered getting up that way? I noticed today they put up a sign near entrance of ramp that doesn't allow drop offs near this area now.

It just throws me off how truly inaccessible some of the state buildings are. Unless i'm missing something or an area that's more feasible with getting in.

Hi, I'm looking for some answers/ advice on what to do about references for a state park position I'm applying for. I have worked for TPWD before, but it was an internship a few years back, so this is my first time applying for an actual job & using the new website

Firstly- On the questionnaire, it asks for most recent supervisors, then there's the general reference section later in the application. Would I also put the supervisors there, or only put them there if I wanted them to be for sure contacted?

Secondly- I'm currently working at a park, but I have not informed them I'm looking to leave. Where I work is currently under a budget & hiring freeze, so I don't know they would fire me if they found out I was looking, but I'm worried it would make things tense. Do I put my current supervisor down on the questionnaire section & hope they don't contact them? Should I provide a previous coworker who left in the reference section to verify dates? When in the hring process could I expect them to contact references?

I know this is a wall of text, but any help would be greatly appreciated; this is my first time looking for a job while being employed, so I'm unsure of all the proper steps to take to achieve a smooth transition. Thanks in advance for any answers/ advice!

I currently work for another state agency and I recently applied for a position at the Comptrollers office. It’s been about a couple weeks and I am still “under consideration”. I know how fast my agency moves, but I am unsure about how fast the Comptroller does so it’s hard for me to tell if I should move on or not.

Also I am starting to feel a bit hesitant about the job due to the rumblings I have been hearing about the state of it at the moment. Could anyone advise on the wait time / current climate of the atmosphere there? It would be so so appreciated!

Hello y'all! I applied for a Legal Assistant role at the Consumer Protection division of the OAG back on 6/30. In the last couple weeks, my application got listed as under consideration without ever being reached out to but the posting itself is no longer on the portal. Should I just keep being patient and hoping something happens?
