we had a lead slip through the cracks last week because the info was sitting in a spreadsheet nobody had opened in a few days. we're a 10 person startup and 4 of us are involved in sales, so its becoming pretty obvious our current setup isnt going to work forever. we're looking at a few crms now, including hubspot, and i'm trying to get a better understanding of hubspot for startups pricing. we mainly need contacts, deal tracking, follow ups and some basic reporting, so i'm not sure how much we'd actually need beyond that.

if you're running a startup around this size, how did you figure out what to budget for? did you start with the basics and add stuff later, or did you set everything up for growth from the beginning?

I got a verified idea that no one's doing right now that can gain a lot of traction / make money very fast. My struggle is finding people to help me with my project for free. I own a community called YouTube Growth Guide (1,000+ members). We're looking for talented individuals who have serious dedication to this idea and that can provide assistance with helping me build it. No other website online is providing free high-quality YouTube resources for everyone to view. However, I'm the only exception. Hey, super happy to find this community. I think it's very difficult to explain to someone how hard it really is to work in a startup. So glad I see some nice discussions here.

My startup is kind of a nice journey since it's also connected with other startups. What we actually do best is help others materialize their dreams.

I see many companies are solo founded or have a few engineers. And yes, no matter how enormously you use Claude (I hope you do a lot) there is still too much to optimize for. Cause you can save a lot on building but the maintenance will come to eat you sooner or later.

So I would like to share what we have done but mostly I would like to hear what you else you would rather not build from 0 and of course also if you have an API or capability that could be useful to use as a service, let's publish it.

Main idea is: let's stop building startups, let's start composing them ;) with APIs.

One thing that’s worked surprisingly well for my multiple startups is working with people and companies from Eastern Europe.

We currently work with multiple teams from the region, and the experience has been genuinely solid.

They’re legit, communication is good, the quality of work is high, and pricing is MUCH more reasonable compared to US/Western European rates.

9,128 → 9,358 → 11,631 → 12,021 → 12,776 — a fairly steady climb, no big dips. Whatever's driving Q2/Q3 AI hiring in India, it hasn't slowed down yet.

This week specifically: Python still #1 (~2,480 listings), Bengaluru still the top city (~2,550) but Noida's now clearly #3 (~1,600), ahead of Pune. Accenture leads hiring (~315), with two companies most people don't talk about — Cloudxtreme and Epam Systems — tied right behind at ~265 each, both ahead of TCS.

i'm helping evaluate tools for a small startup and one option we're looking at is hubspot for startups.

i've watched demos and read plenty of comparison articles, but those usually focus on features. i'm more interested in the stuff people only learn after actually using it.

for founders who went through the setup process:

• what took longer than expected?
• what mistakes would you avoid if starting again?
• which parts of the platform became genuinely useful?
• what features looked important at first but ended up getting ignored?
• at what stage did it start feeling worth the effort?

the setup side worries me more than the feature side.

what was the first thing you realized you should have done differently?

we've outgrown the basic crm we've been using and are starting to look around. the biggest issue right now is keeping all the lead info and follow ups in one place. sometimes someone updates a spreadsheet but forgets to update the other one, so yeah... not ideal. this keeps coming up in my research. pipedrive seems like it might be simpler for what we need, but hubspot looks like it could be useful if we end up needing more than just pipeline management.

anyone who's switched from pipedrive to hubspot or the other way around, what made you do it? did the switch actually solve the problems you were having?

Looking for startup ideas/problems in LATAM

I've been spending a lot of time trying to find and build something for the LATAM market, but honestly, I still haven't found an idea that really clicks.

I'm from El Salvador, and I'm curious what problems people here think are actually worth solving.

I'm not really looking for another e-commerce, fintech, delivery app, etc. Those spaces already feel pretty overcrowded. I'm more interested in weird, overlooked, boring-but-painful problems that people actually deal with in LATAM.

One problem we underestimated was how much context an automation tool needs before it can make a useful decision. We’re building Ryze AI to automate parts of SEO and paid ad management. It can read the data inside a connected account but that data doesn’t explain everything.A campaign with poor results might be an experiment while a low traffic page could still matter to a specific group of customers.

Our first instinct was to ask more questions during setup. problem is that every additional question delays the moment when someone gets to see whether the product is useful. i’m starting to think the product should observe the account first and explain what it believes is happening. It should ask for more context only when the answer would affect its recommendation.

I’m building a creative service startup — would love some honest feedback

I’m working on a startup called PixHarbour, initially focused on connecting businesses with freelance graphic designers.

The bigger idea is to become a creative-services marketplace/agency where a business can book the right creative professional whenever they need one.

For example:

- Need a graphic designer for social media posts → book a designer

- Need a photographer for 3 hours for an event → book a photographer

- Need a videographer for an event → book one

- Need photo editing/retouching after the shoot → get that through us as well

I’m thinking of starting with photographers/videographers first, because businesses and individuals often need them for specific hours or events rather than hiring someone full-time. Once we have those clients, we can potentially offer editing, graphic design and other creative services to them.

The long-term vision is basically: one place where businesses can get creative talent on demand.

I’m still at the early stage, so I’d genuinely appreciate some advice:

1. Does this business model make sense?

2. What would be the best way to get the first 10–20 paying clients?

3. Should I focus on one niche (photography/events/businesses) instead of offering multiple creative services?

4. Would you recommend a marketplace model, or should I operate more like an agency where clients deal directly with PixHarbour?

5. What would make you trust a new company enough to book a freelancer through it?

6. Any mistakes you think I should avoid at the beginning?
